    The ACD Method

Speaking of trading things you don't understand, I have realized recently that I have traded my whole adult life without tracking the USD. I never understood that the dollar is half of my trade.

    The ACD Method

My 30 NL is very negative and my short term NL is starting to lose momentum at an extreme. If I get price weakness I expect to see at least a couple day sell-off.

So anybody else watching oil for a short this week?

    The ACD Method

There are as many ways to use ACD as there are traders. All methods "work" under the correct market conditions. The key is to know what market condition you need and use ACD to identify those markets. At least that is my opinion. I personally am a fan of Al Brooks material. Not all of it...

Read the ACD thread on this site. It is free and has all you need to build an approach to suit your needs.

GC/PL spread is a little smoother than any of the metals.

Got my multi symbol analyzer running. I see the error of my ways and I think its time to stop just trading gold. At a minimum I need to add silver platinum and palladium, at least until I have more time to devote to trading. I haven't even been paying attention to platinum lol. 30 day line...

    The ACD Method

I'm not a top caller lol. I've been mostly posting about tools, figure I should start talking markets instead. I only trade gold right now for a few reasons and I see a significant shift in gold. The new month and quarter are about to start so I think it's worth watching, and would be happy...

GC had a failure at the monthly A up today in conjunction with a daily C down. My 30 day went negative on 3/23 for the first time in two months. Edit: And some pretty sensitive NL derivatives I am playing with are just turning negative today and yesterday.

That's pretty much what I do too. I will say I'm still assuming I made a mistake somewhere. I threw out that analysis but I remember the parameters and if I can recreate it with better tools I am building I will go print money. Again, I'm assuming a mistake...

    The ACD Method

Its actually going pretty well. I'm done with the code to score the NL, I'm just trying to write an application now to run the code on a group of instruments at once and output to one nice neat file. The real struggle is with my job. It really eats up my time them wanting me to work instead...

Yeah I tend to go nuts on 1 topic at a time. Numberline is next once I finish some code I'm struggling with. I hope I'm not bugging anyone with this stuff.

And here is regression analysis. It's been about 15 years since my college stat classes so I'm refreshing that knowledge lol. ES since 2009 x axis 5 min opening range y axis NY market hours range

And this was mostly for fun to learn some new code but here is scattergraph of ES 5 minute opening range vs regular market hour range, with individual distributions on subgraphs. Main x axis: 5 min opening range Main y axis: day range Top y axis: count Right x axis: day range I cut out the...

    The ACD Method

Well I assume we have been all busily studying Currency Trading and Intermarket Analysis instead of posting here. Just wanted to say that I was reviewing my code and found a mistake and once fixed it shows a higher (around .65) correlation between 5 min OR and daily range than I posted earlier...

    The ACD Method

I don't want to ruin this fine thread by taking the conversation that direction. I apologize for mentioning his name. On a more productive note, another extremely eye opening book for me was trading option greeks by passarelli. I believe but am not 100% that was another Mav recommendation.

Expected Returns by Antti Ilmanen. I wish I had ran into a book like this instead of Jack Hershey when I was an impressionable 16 year old. I would probably have a lot more money right now.

Mav you've given me some great book suggestions over the years. I've got a decent understanding of most asset classes now thanks to those books but that last post makes me realize I still don't really understand the interplay FX rates have with everything else. So...any book suggestions for a...
