Speaking of trading things you don't understand, I have realized recently that I have traded my whole adult life without tracking the USD. I never understood that the dollar is half of my trade.

My 30 NL is very negative and my short term NL is starting to lose momentum at an extreme. If I get price weakness I expect to see at least a couple day sell-off.

So anybody else watching oil for a short this week?

There are as many ways to use ACD as there are traders. All methods "work" under the correct market conditions. The key is to know what market condition you need and use ACD to identify those markets. At least that is my opinion. I personally am a fan of Al Brooks material. Not all of it...

GC/PL spread is a little smoother than any of the metals.

GC had a failure at the monthly A up today in conjunction with a daily C down. My 30 day went negative on 3/23 for the first time in two months. Edit: And some pretty sensitive NL derivatives I am playing with are just turning negative today and yesterday.

That's pretty much what I do too. I will say I'm still assuming I made a mistake somewhere. I threw out that analysis but I remember the parameters and if I can recreate it with better tools I am building I will go print money. Again, I'm assuming a mistake...

Its actually going pretty well. I'm done with the code to score the NL, I'm just trying to write an application now to run the code on a group of instruments at once and output to one nice neat file. The real struggle is with my job. It really eats up my time them wanting me to work instead...

Expected Returns by Antti Ilmanen. I wish I had ran into a book like this instead of Jack Hershey when I was an impressionable 16 year old. I would probably have a lot more money right now.
