I would like to discuss averaging down

You can't dumb it down like that as you need to mix timeframes to get a better view. The correct answer would be C inside a larger A.

    ES Journal - 2012

The basic premise is correct. When the market is ranged bound, you buy or short when price is extended from the mean, presumably with some confluence at the aformentioned extension. When the market is trending, entering on pullbacks, the same. I'm seriously dumbing it down here but you...

If you had 50k gamble what would your bet be

Don't gamble, that's stupid, invest in yourself. Instead do thorough research and see if you can find a legitimate trading mentor that's willing to help you out and negotiate. Show him or her that you are very serious about learning by doing hard work and offer a large monetary...

    Is Fundamental Analysis Somewhat Useless?

I pay attention to the timing of fundamental releases, but not the content. Purely a technical trader, you know the kind that many think it's worthless, that kind :)

I would like to discuss averaging down

There's nothing wrong with averaging down, provided the instrument you trading for is in a proper state for averaging down. AVERAGING DOWN and GOOD risk management can CO-EXIST peacefully you just must learn how. Most trading textbooks blow, think different, just carefully. At the...

Has ET reached the Tipping Point?

Here's a nice paradox for ET. Considering most are bearish on ET and considering the board tends to be, overall, more wrong than right.... I'm selling naked ET puts, any takers? :D

I would like to discuss averaging down

Absolutely, otherwise there would be no need to risk being right on small size and feeling ambiguity and relying on hope on bigger size. Any trader averaging down is absent minded of bar entry techniques, that's why they need to do it, there's no other reason really.

I would like to discuss averaging down

Dustin, There are some market conditions, particularly certain, instrument timeframe conditions, that merit adding to heat. However, NSM today was most definitely not one of them. You had a potential area of resistance in the daily that you could have used to exit any longs, not that...

Ammo, Based on my studies we will test 1415 SPX before any massive breakout is witnessed (if any ) so sharing it with you so you can extend your greed on those reduces instead of taking small gains. Will revisit the suggestion when the time is appropriate. Good luck.

    Trouble in Bear-Land

Mac, I don't guess, I would need to see more bar data to make that decision. Before the Fed spoke my guess would had been it stops around the red return line, now that the crazy Bubble Ben went all in at resistance, that changes the dynamics completely. All I can tell you is that so far...

    Trouble in Bear-Land

Completion. This is where you begin to look for an exit and patiently wait for the reversal signal. Now the battle to turn the red into support or resistance begins. Don't get caught in the barbwire, examine the clear winner after they are done shooting each other in the heads.

Typically, it's better for the action to breakout and hold the breakout, before retesting the resistance area it broke. When the re-test is premature it usually ends in failure.

Al Brooks - Trading Price Action Trends

I've read some of Al Brook's work, he's got some interesting ideas as far as single chart reads go. However, there's a massive fundamental flaw in his method and that's limiting himself to one chart. The key to unlocking market structure understanding is found in putting all the pieces...

Tired of the doom and gloom traders

Making it in this business is not easy, takes hard work, lot of research, homework, requires capital, requires that such capital is preserved throughout the learning stages, and then even when you find a good system to execute, requires tremendous will and discipline. Typically the above is not...

I would like to discuss averaging down

I could be wrong here, but on one hand, the OP is asking for help, yet on the other he talks trading wisdom. Any ulterior motives Daring or bad read from my part?

I dont get it. Who is buying all the Facebook shares ?

Good question, because even if you like something price must confirm your directional analysis, and FB has been nothing but a falling knife.

    Trouble in Bear-Land

This upside is just an appetizer, the main course will come when the bearish formation is finally completed and the confirmation move occurs, it is afterall, a bearish wedge, as you said, we moving on very low volume, which makes it even more tasty, but until that comes, more upside. Perhaps...
