I like to tag and categorize day/price behavior and trades taken in Logseq for review. Every so often I'll export the tags for analysis in excel. During the trading day I'll use the database as a reference for possible scenarios.

    ES Journal - 2023/2024

Hell if I know, probably either/both. I think it's interesting to see what may have moved the market (which is why I glance at news releases from time to time), but in realtime I try to just trade based on what price is doing/has done.

When I posted it was for Today, but the probability is getting lower now. It's a trading range day, so I expect both sides to be disappointed. Trading range of the last month+ is a big magnet and I think the selloff from 9:40-10:10ish is going to limit the upside. We're also near the top of the...

Is Tom Hougaard the real deal?

It's always a balance between probability, risk, and reward. He scalps so what's bullshit about large risk with small reward but higher probability? There are people that explain/write about how to trade like that, but studying it seems to involve doing more work than what most active posters on...

Christmas In March For Price TA Trader Wannabes

Ah. You would think, but I doubt you'll find that here any time soon. People enjoy their privacy and shit talking. This isn't recent and it's not letting you drive the car, but it's a document TraderTom put together based on old Avid Trader posts where some showed how they drive. I know you...

Christmas In March For Price TA Trader Wannabes

@NoahA many here like to poo-poo him, but Al Brooks covers everything Scataphagos outlined in great detail. Framework answers to questions you’re asking can be found in his books, just with different terminology; trade logic, where to enter, where to exit, when to fade/chase, rough...

Are you good at price action and technical analysis?

I'm not aware of the guy, but remember when Citadel hired a group of scientists and analysts to make weather predictions? https://www.ft.com/content/d92e7f30-b4da-48b2-8fff-fd59fda751e1

    Complacency in trading.

Does your approach change because of bias going into the day based on your stat model or because of what is happening on the chart in real-time? You could always try to hedge against yourself until you get everything squared away. Program an algo in strategy builder as close as you can to how...

Giving up on my dream of trading for a living

Good plan and yes they are. Don't worry about the hole in your resume, just prepare your backstory/reasoning and be able to sell yourself. Hiring managers in this area at bigger companies will most likely care more about what you can speak to and show competence in. If you have experience with...

There was also a channel line overshoot at the end of the bull channel, price made it back to the other side and then kept going after failing to get back into the range. Good bull and bear case. It'll be interesting to see if we just go sideways.

Don't do it unless you're disciplined enough to cut it/reverse when you need to. And did the rough math ahead of time. edit- probably best to use the appropriate stop (don't keep it so tight). If it doesn't fit what you want to risk, don't take the trade.
