    remote trading ?

SPAM ALERT!!!! They (you) have been in business for a whopping 6 months and no one has ever mentioned them before....except you on your first post. They (you) are an unregistered broker dealer which are being shut down by the SEC. Registered through: GoDaddy.com, Inc...

Opening up a firm this way

Again, simply call the SEC and explain what the firm is doing and ask them if its legal. "transaction based compensation" is only allowed for registered broker dealers. This is pretty black and white: Section 3(a)(4) of the Exchange Act defines a “broker” as a person, including a...

Opening up a firm this way

Sky, The structure you describe is pretty much the ONLY acceptable structure that doesn't need to be registered with the SEC, according to my conversations with the SEC. Which firms/people allow this??

"Locked up for a minimum of 12 months per sec rule"

    Prop firms-what questions to ask?

JC does have a lock-up on your deposit, not profits. However, they have a lower minimum initial deposit. I can confirm that Echo does not have a lock up, but their rates were pretty high for Sterling. Here is a thread about the lock-up and why some firms have them...

Thread on a Prop Firm Deleted

CY Group is just an LLC acting like a broker dealer. They are the same exact structure that Tuco and Warrior Fund were and the SEC shut them down. Tuco and Warrior Fund were unregulated and unregistered and deemed illegal. Bright Trading, Echo, JC Trading, Hold Brothers, and many others...

    Epiphany Method

Can you please respond to the question I have asked a few times in this thread but have been ignored: From an earlier post of mine after you stated that traders trade at cost and you don't make money on commissions: "That is excellent that you "pass along our costs". Can you please post...

    CY Group Thread Taken Down?

The other thread was about CY traders not being able to trade on March 10th. CY told their traders it was due to Laser being down. But I am 100% positive there were no Laser issues on that date.

    CY Group Thread Taken Down?

Where did the thread go about some recent issues at Cy Group? That was an important thread discussing some of the possible issues at unregulated LLC as illustrated here: http://www.sec.gov/litigation/admin/2010/34-61625.pdf Maybe the moderator can comment.

    Keystone Trading..... The Truth

You are confusing scam prop shops that charge you a high rate, charge you for their "training", and pay you only a percentage of your profits with the real prop firms that offer you a low rate and 100% payout and no scam fees.

    Epiphany Method

So did you have to put up a deposit? What rate are you paying? What is the profit split? Any other fees involved?
  15. T

OK I love Anvil.....but the monthly fees!!!

Check out a prop firm that uses Lightspeed....I used to trade at Assent and when I saw Lightspeed i was amazed how similar they were. Almost identical.

    Zero Downside second account

Don, Speaking of dual registration....do you allow your traders to be dually registered with a CBSX firm?

Warning to anyone trading through an LLC

The SEC doesn't require the licenses, FINRA does. Since they are non-FINRA BD's, FINRA does not regulate them. The CBSX is their regulator and currently the CBSX doesn't require a series 7. The Philly Exchange also regulates firms that trade on the PHLX, for example, and also has different...

    Epiphany Method

Punter, I think you miss what Epiphany is saying. They say they pass their cost along to the traders and don't make money off the commissions. I think he even said something like "if our traders don't make money we don't eat". So obviously they must have a set cost that everyone trades...

Brendan, When you have a chance can you comment on this....doesn't look like you answered it yet?

    Epiphany Method

Brendan, That is excellent that you "pass along our costs". Can you please post what these are. Obviously since you pass on your cost everyone must trade at the same cost so you shouldn't have a problem posting them. Maybe one of the 100+ traders can post what they pay per share at Epiphany.
