When Does Day Trade Becomes Swing Trade?

vincentnyc Whatever you say, I can't even see. I know it is all garbage. I enjoy my swing trades. Or day trades if I want them be.

CPI Inflation at 7.5%. What else to Expect?

Both Bill Ackman and Cathie Wood are buying dips. So Bill had to unwind his swaptions (interest rate hedge) to buy NFLX dip. That trade would have made him a lot of $$$. And yet NFLX is down 1.65%. Wonder what my dear Cathie had to sell? Sell Google, MSFT and AMZN?

Reality; Does the Fed know the Inflation numbers before they are released?

If Fed knows ahead of release time, it does not make any difference. Of course Jay Powell knows that. He is part of that circle.

    NASDAQ 100 on the move

Not really. A lot stocks have much larger moves than NQ and any index futures. Look at the meme stocks and FB, NFLX etc....

U.S. National Debt Tops $30 Trillion as Borrowing Surged Amid Pandemic

With Fed raising interest rate, borrowing cost will go higher. For the people who can't pay back, they are in trouble. Also, this is like stock prices going down and traders have to return back the margin loans. Not good.

CPI Inflation at 7.5%. What else to Expect?

But what can a 25 bps do to the market? People giving up mortgage applications because of the rate increase? Or we stop our trip to grocery store because gas is at $4.00?

CPI Inflation at 7.5%. What else to Expect?

Wonder why so many traders want to fight Fed and take chances? End of pandemic. Economy opening up. Supply chain problem. Huge trade imbalance. Extremely high energy prices. All point to inflation that has run away from any control. Fed waited too long and its "transitory" theorem is...

Fed tests digital currency without blockchain

Why do we need blockchain? What does it has to do with digital USD? Most of the banking transactions are digital based anyhow. From ACH to mobile wallet. Blockchain is not any part of this. Not sure where blockchain comes into play in the future. I guess not much.

Thoughts/feedback on parts/cost of new custom build workstation

The Samsung m.2 is already a SSD hard drive. No need for more upgrade. You better get 32GB instead of the 16GB. I think I probably running one of the old computer system here at ET. Mine is a 11 years old Intel 3rd I-7. I run 3 different web browsers, each with like 10 tabs open. I think...

What would you consider the minimum Account Balance to trade Commodity Futures?

With the $0 stock trading, a lot traders have left futures to the leveraged ETFs. Micro contracts are good way to start. But over time, the trading cost just adds up. Eventually full size contract is the way to go.

"91% Asset Plunge" of an ETF, How Exactly Does It Work?

This is how ARKK share owners can demand individual company shares in exchange for ARKK shares. Then Cathie Wood would have less capital to manage. Like a reverse stock buy back. Outside funds can "sell back" shares to Cathie Wood for TSLA shares etc....

When Does Day Trade Becomes Swing Trade?

I get a lot of accounts for various reasons. I limit the amount at IB since I do not want all the exposure to futures when I trade futures. That can carry me away. Then there are various types of accounts. IB does not offer a lot of them. So I can't even keep a SEP, or Solo 401K at IB...

    Why I don't short

I think the #1 has merit. The overall market trend is up. So shorting stocks is mostly for short-term opportunity. It is never a good idea to short TSLA, or even GME, AMC etc for extended time period. I see this as trading opportunities. But I do not agree with #2 and #3. Dividend reflects...

When Does Day Trade Becomes Swing Trade?

No. I do not keep on top of everything. Those are only the gains I had. Of course we all have had losses. I guess that is where day trade turning into swing trades? I do not "day trade". So all are pretty much swing trades. And that vincentnyc dude seems having problem with that.

What would you consider the minimum Account Balance to trade Commodity Futures?

Anyone can have successful "story" trading futures, with little capital or borrowing from credit card. The question is if this someone can successfully do this over many years. I had a 76% monthly return sometime last year on CL. If OP had such a good start, then he would be golden. But OP...
