There Is Absolutely NO VALUE To High Frequency Trading

No. What I'm saying is that HFT is not directly related to the grand macro relationship that flows through all things. It exists in its own very world of market micro-structures. (Have you actually ever seen a HFT strategy?) The original premise stated by juniorcfa was that central banks are...

Raising Capital Hedge fund or Old School partnership

I gave you a fair reply in the other thread you started basically on the same subject; You ignored it, and started basically a new thread; Was my reply a "bs answer"?

There Is Absolutely NO VALUE To High Frequency Trading

Jesus - you are delusional (or just that ignorant about the world of real trading). First, bond trading is NOT a a gentlemen's club. There are hundreds of dealers -from the big primaries or little regional brokers operating out of small suite; Everyone trades bonds. Everyone. Pension funds...

There Is Absolutely NO VALUE To High Frequency Trading

Sorry, but this is entirely incoherent. QE purchases are done at a set time with the primary dealers, who solicit bids on behalf of bond traders. "Bond print" are auctions that are also done at a set time, using an auction protocol. Neither of which is done on a high-frequency basis. Both of...

There Is Absolutely NO VALUE To High Frequency Trading

That's pretty flaky reasoning you got there. A cardiac surgeon's opinion on how the heart works is well informed. But if he claims expertise on neural surgery on the basis of his cardiac experience alone, we should be wary. Or are you just looking for confirmation of your own opinion?

Why do you keep talking about gambling? No one is talking about gambling. Or is all of investing gambling to you? Is buying an option gambling to you because you don't know what an option is?

But you are claiming you do: "it seems like a done deal." No? (as for pets.com - of course it was awesome; and I don't think they figured out how to deliver those heavy bags so cheaply either)

The death of credit cards? buy PAY

Well.. I posed a bunch of hurdles... you offer no counterpoint - other than "the march of high tech". Same could have been said about pets.com once upon a time, no?

Does America Need to Consider a Creditor's Agreement to Stop the National Debt

Do you understand the impact of the sovereign default of the reserve currency? The US does not have a problem with its interest payments. By definition, it will never have such a problem. I'm not sure you understand this point. I don't mean to be rude, but do you have any background on...

The death of credit cards? buy PAY

Waving a phone vs waving a card - what's the difference? A card has the benefit of doesn't need to be charged. Finally, until these smart wallet providers can provide the same level fraud protection and indemnification that my amex does, why incentive do I have to switch over?

Does America Need to Consider a Creditor's Agreement to Stop the National Debt

The US doesn't have a problem paying the interest. Also, it theoretically won't ever have a problem since its debt is denominated so it's own currency. So, why bother going down the road of defaulting, when doing so is entirely unnecessary.

So, what you are really saying that your speculation are all entirely idle. You don't have enough confidence in them to make a play for it. I see.

Eh... he managed to keep the money. Remember all those dot-com billionaires who didn't cash out? Neither do I. Like I said - I think he's a smart guy. But that doesn't mean he's an expert in all things.
