Elderly Man Faces Prison For Defending Property Against Illegals

I'm also a long-time gun owner (and competitive shooter) and would NOT shoot someone stealing my property, especially if they were outside of my home. In most states (certainly in California where I live) you are only justifed in using deadly force if you or an innocent party are in danger of...

Tired of people downplaying averaging down

There's nothing wrong with averaging down if the conditions (support/resistance and price/volume action) are right. It's just another way of scaling into a trade. The key is knowing where to get out if the trade goes against you and having the discipline to push the button.

Ever wonder why they never made a movie about Jesse Livermore?

It might make an interesting movie, but it's unlikely to get made unless a really big-name star or director gets behind it. Today's studios aren't run by filmmakers, they're run by Harvard MBAs who come from places like GE. They like formulas that work. That's why they're mostly interested in...

Biggest Defaulters on Mortgages Are the Rich

Our neighbor is one of the top brokers for Coldwell-Banker in the Newport Beach area. She gave me the following statistics for homes in Southern California: Homes in the $3-5M price range: 72% purchased for cash. Homes in the $5-10M price range: 89% purchased for cash. Homes over $10M: 97%...

Biggest Defaulters on Mortgages Are the Rich

Truly "rich" people don't have mortgages. They pay cash.

    The endangered senators list

It's unlikley that Barbara Boxer will lose. She's accomplished virtually zero in her 18 years in the Senate, but the California state employee unions love her. Here's what happens every time she's up for election: During the last two weeks before the election, the unions pour millions into her...

Obama Lover Media Outlets Ignoring Big Stories.

The mainstream media isn't thoroughly covering this administration and as these stories come to light, it's going to cost the democrats in November. All I'm talking about is an election, not a revolution. I have no idea why you're so hostile and making untrue accusations about me. I never said...

Obama Lover Media Outlets Ignoring Big Stories.

Who's talking about armed resistance? This thread is about how the mainstream media covers the Obama administration. It has absolutely nothing to do with armed resistance, the military or anything else of that nature.

No recent Global Warming thread? or have you passed out from the heat?

Funny you should say that. My wife said exactly the same thing this morning -- "earthquake weather."

No recent Global Warming thread? or have you passed out from the heat?

Here in Southern California it's unseasonably cool. This year is first time since we've lived in this house (19 years) that I had to turn on the heat in July.

Obama Lover Media Outlets Ignoring Big Stories.

The New York Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, ABC, NBC, CBS etc. all refuse to cover this voter intimidation story. Not only is it well documented (witnesses, on video, etc.), but some of the key people have testified before congress and are about to testify before the civil rights...

Anybody Trade from Monaco's Monte Carlo ?

My wife's sister and her husband live there. The weather is nice and it's a very exciting place to live. We visited them last year and stayed in their 950 square-foot 2bed/2bath condo that they paid $3.5M for. I thought where we live in Southern California is expensive. It's nothing compared to...

NJ's GOP Governor's plan...1300 tax on Sr's-11,500 tax cut on millionaires

New Jersey's problems are similar to Cailfornia's. I've lived in California for the last 30+ years and I've watched these problems develop over time: 1. The state of California has 12% of the nation's population and 32% of all the country's welfare cases because of the constantly...

Preparing for the forthcoming assault on liberty, trading, and capital

I live in southern California. About 25% of the local population is here illegally and nobody seems to care -- especially the federal government.

Preparing for the forthcoming assault on liberty, trading, and capital

No. As I stated previously, my wife is an Australian citizen and we would move there first to get Australian citizenship. Australia does not tax non-resident citizens on income earned outside the country, just like Canada and every other country in the world -- except the US and North Korea.

Preparing for the forthcoming assault on liberty, trading, and capital

The Canadian taxing authorities are quite reasonable compared to the draconian US/IRS. The Canadian government does not tax its non-resident citizens on income earned outside of Canada.

Interesting article about giving up US citizenship. http://www.time.com/time/world/article/0,8599,1983238,00.html

Preparing for the forthcoming assault on liberty, trading, and capital

The attorney we spoke to told us that immediately after we give up our citizenship, the US/IRS has no jourisdiction over us as long as we have paid all of our taxes up to the separation point.
