Biggest problem with learning candlestick patterns is the difficulty unlearning them after you find how useless they are. A candlestick chart serves as a visual aid in identifying supply and demand but the individual patterns seem to me to be low probability directional indicators.

Basically their systems don't work except in the kind of markets where even moving average crossovers appear to work - or in other words they don't really know ho to trade.

IB should consider buying some historical data for former Osaka and JASDAQ stocks now under TSE - charts only have a short period from when they came under TSE - basically useless.

Charting/data alternative to eSignal is Metastock Xenith - basically the Reuters Eikon with surprisingly little functionality removed. Fabulous deal for USD150/month non pro/1 region. Nothing below institutuional price point i.e. BBG can compare - even come close. Has Japan Data 2 month free...
