Is Scalping or High Frequency Trading Less Risky?

Bill, When I scalp, I use TS Matrix. I enter a market bracket order with ie. +5/5. Using a pretty fast machine and a 1 megabit ADSL, have absolutely no problem scalping with TS matrix.

Hubert Senters, TTM, Tradethemarkets possible rumour.

Games or no games I question the integrity of those guys. Indicators that can be found for free for the price of a round trip to the Bahamas? Stupid strategies like the Squeeze? Rather ridiculous pricing for just about anything in their arsenal. Legal thieves as I like to call them.

    God Bless Averaging Up

Steve, I don't think I could automate it, I rely too much on market internals to make sure I don't go against the trend that matters.

Steve, Unfortunately, I have to trail them by hand using the Matrix on Tradestation. The plan is to eventually learn enough easy language to do this automatically. Ya I know, its indian style lol

It's not exactly what I use but a good rule of thumb is to take the range of the previous trading day and use 10% of it. For example: Past trading low was 100 high 300, thats 200 point range, your stop should be no LESS than 20 points. Now take what I described above and adjust it to...

Just one giant headfake before the run

If you dig deep enough you will find infinite reasons to be bullish or bearish, that's why the market usually has a buyer and a seller at any given point. However, if I pull up a 1day bar chart, I see a bear flag :) Needless to say Im a daytrader, and I dont care if it goes up 500 or down...

    ES Journal Archive (2006 - 2008)

JJ, Hope you had a good day, didn't even check, as I think I'm getting a cold so posting quickly. Had a magnificent day, made an average of over 100 points in the YM per car. Real easy to verify by the channel's log. However, I'm sure you are not interested in meaningless evidence...

    God Bless Averaging Up

Another day to the test where scaling up or averaging up, pick your preferred term, produced killer results. - Took two minor losses (both shorts) - One decent win (long) - Two huge wins (both shorts). Do yourself a favor and look into it. Good trading.

For what is worth, I only do futures, particularly the YM because that's the instrument that my mentor used when I started learning them. It's very liquid and since it is only $5 per point the instrument offers exit point flexibility. I only daytrade and under no circumstances I swing a...
