    Averaging down is addictive

Well, the casino is different as they have limits, no such thing in the stock market. However, I am well aware of the consequences of continous cost average. What I am suggesting, is different although judging from some of the traders here, destined to fail as well so don't think I will...

    Averaging down is addictive

Bit, Here is a tip that helps me with AAPL. As long as its consolidating, it follows RSI and MACD 85% of the time. Good luck.

    Averaging down is addictive

Newbie, Yes, I hear you loud and clear. Keep your losses small so you can move on to a possible runner (winner) instead of sitting on a probable loser. However, in this market you need wide stops because its too volatile (AAPL is a 1.7 Beta stock), might as well average down when the...

    Averaging down is addictive

Ok how about the following scenario. Take AAPL for example, quite a volatile stock. Say you want to daytrade 1000 shares but you have no idea how the crazy fruit will respond during the day. First position 200 shares. If it runs, you scale in and continue to do do until all 1000...

Will history repeat itself like 1999?

As long as there is a trend we can capitalize. It's the zig zags that kills.

Are you using a Mac to trade?

If he is a daytrader and he needs to reboot OS/X to run his trading software in Windows what the hell does he want a Mac for ? I love the new Macs but this is not the way to go. Bootcamp is ok when you must run an application that is impossible to find for OS/X but not for an everyday...

    Averaging down is addictive

You would think averaging down at different ends of volatile stocks would pay off. Of course, this is all I theory that I need to test on paper. I have noticed that stocks have different behaviors. Some are more conservative, some are absolutely wild, some rarely move and when they do...

    Stops

A Hidden Stop is a stop order that resides in your broker's server. As soon as it triggers it becomes a market order for everyone to see. Check your broker. I use Etrade Pro and they have it.

    Averaging down is addictive

Apex, That is what I have been doing lately. Started a trade, with a 2% stop loss, 250 shares. The stock retraced 1%, added 250 shares. It hovered around the -1% area for about 2 hours. Then it retraced an additional .5% and I added 500 shares. After this the market experienced...

    Averaging down is addictive

Today I was down 4k net. However, due to averaging down I managed to turn it around and make 3k instead of losing 4k. I am perfectly aware of the consequences of why averaging down can be extremely dangerous. Now, since it is addictive anyone out there who uses this technique RESPONSIBLY ...

Pay services that select your picks.

I'm already on highchartpatterns, it's pretty good but as I said you must be an experienced trader to use it successfully. It is not buy or short type of signal newsletter. However, everything is explained in details and the reports are honest. The other day they had 3 setups and all 3 of...
