    Strategy for Weds

Prediction or not I think the Nasdaq is doomed to test the low 40s (Qs) area sooner or later.

dow jones up 30 pts for 2007 !!! markets not even open

Everyone expecting the US market to rise because some countries are doing well. How often does this work ? Feds can kill any rally in a matter of seconds and we got the Fed minutes on Wed morning. On top of that, we got oil. I'll believe what happens when it happens.

    Daytrading Cycles and Patterns

I thought it would be nice to start a post on cycles and patterns you have found during daytrading to help each other out. If you have something that's worth mentioning please jump into the helping ship and post. I'll start.... Between 11:45 to 12:15 the market tends to rally. Imho...

Do you use Martingale position sizing?

W, Lot of good info in that last post of yours. You provided a lot of "read between the lines" type of information that I thought was very valuable. I enjoyed it.

Do you use Martingale position sizing?

I suspect the anti-martingale system can produce some very good payouts during breakouts or breakdowns if you happen to ride the right side. And if the trade goes against you, well it's a small position anyway :)

    ETF's In Foreign Exchanges

Where Did You Find your Strategy?

I eventually found out that teachers can't trade and traders won't teach therefore I knew something had to be done. I got pissed off, so much greed I said. So I went at it myself. Started on paper.... Lost a bundle. Kept losing. Started losing less. Started breaking even...

How do you find your signals?

Geometrics above all. Solid support and resistance. With that being said, lets move on to the techincals. Bollinger Bands They offer overbought and oversold signals, it's not perfect but with good money management and fast entry you can make good use of these because they work most of...

Looking for traders of ProFunds double inverse ETFs

I value these funds because they provide greater margin when you want to short the indexes ETF. For example, takes less capital to buy DXD than to short DIA. Ultimately, it's more efficient to short the YM e-mini but as I'm not quite prepared for futures yet I started doing some research...

Where Did You Find your Strategy?

I'm more a daytrader than swingtrader but I feel much more comfortable buying a strong stock on pullback than anything else.

Not a good way to end the journal. Best of luck though.

    Transition to Futures

In my experience if the economic data is not an obvious bearish or bullish signal the first move will not be real. However, this still implies that you place your bet, I mean position heh, after the news are released.

    Transition to Futures

B, I agree, having a position before economic data or feds speaking is gambling. You have no idea what they will say or how the market will react, aside from the fact that whatever they say will be cryptic. If you can trade this successfully beforehand not only do I salute you but I open...

    Transition to Futures

V, I always keep up to date with economic data when daytrading. Regardless if Im doing stocks or ETF. Now, from past experience I have found that it's better to NOT have a position before these news. Once a pattern is developed, then the odds go in your favor. Taking a position before the...

Why is it so hard to beat the market?

Don, I'm happy to hear you can trade the first 20 minutes successfully in the NYSE. Unfortunately, I have not found consistency there. Hope you have a great 2007. Neet

Do you use Martingale position sizing?

Here is my logic. Commodities, indexes and stocks in general tend to go up and down. With that being said, chances of instruments behaving in a zig zag fashion are much higher than a continuous breakdown or breakout. As some of you stated, even less chances of commodities of having a...
