You'll love it if you use Ninja

Ignorance is bliss - you should know that some forum software doesn't properly escape certain characters, not to mention word wrapping that may be significant.

    The Actual Grail

@Buy1Sell2 Thanks for sharing. Would you mind posting some charts where this method didn't work? I always want to see the negative before I see the positive. Thanks in advance.

    Quad core for trading?

Just in case OP did not get a chance to check that link: Beta 2 is getting out to beta testers tomorrow (Oct 20, 2009 ), while final release will most likely be before the end of this year.

TFSA & Canadian discount brokerage firms

Thanks squirly309. You are right. I did some additional research and it seems that the only thing one can do with tfsa is penny stocks trading. Do you know any software that can scan TSX & TSX Venture to find those by some criteria (volume, price, news, etc)? My preference would be desktop...

TFSA & Canadian discount brokerage firms

Couple of questions for my fellow Canadians that trade with TD Waterhouse through TFSA account: 1) What else can be traded aside from Canadian stocks? 2) Any futures, or forex? 3) What are Active Trader platform fees and trading transaction costs? 4) What's your opinion of Active Trader...

Little help with finding a software graphing package

It seems that ET does not allow multiple uploads. This is a second one I referred to in my prev post.

Little help with finding a software graphing package

Thanks loltrader, I've never used Mathematica. Can you do colored contour plots at the bottom as shown in my example instead of just curves? Can Mathematica also combine more than one plot on the same chart type? What I'm trying to see is two of these (shown below) on the same chart.

Little help with finding a software graphing package

Anybody knows which package was used to create these? Ultimately, I should also be able to place one or more scatter plots on top of the bottom contour plot. In any case, I don't expect a free one but some reasonably priced would be nice - all suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance.

Dollar, treasuries, and reserve currency thoughts

Hi Pascal, thanks for the analysis - I wish I had your understanding of the markets. I'm pretty sure that everybody here is dying to hear how did you learn all this stuff. Any book recommendations? Thanks for sharing.

    Firefox vs. Chrome

I'd recommend Opera browser - it's super fast and robust. I've tried all major browsers and Opera remains my top choice. Give it a try. http://www.opera.com/browser/

    TF/ICE vs ER2/CME

Thanks Fast_Trader. So getting closer to 10 contracts is a problem? Also, any experience with 6E|EC futures (Euro FX Globex)? Recommended?

    TF/ICE vs ER2/CME

Anybody continued trading Russell after ER2 was moved to ICE? Volume seems smaller than before. Recommened? Not? I'm looking for non-scalping intraday trading experience/opinions. Thanks.

Being your own forex broker - possible?

Thanks, Zimbu, Jachyra, etc. My original question was exactly what I meant - avoiding the middleman and trading only for myself. I did not want any customers. Sort of like getting a seat at the "fx exchange". The reason for that was my starting to hear horror stories from ET-ers about...

Being your own forex broker - possible?

This book seems like a great read - excellent reviews. Any other books you'd recommend to learn inner workings of other markets, exchanges, investment banks, commercial banks, etc?

Being your own forex broker - possible?

Thanks cvds16 - I didn't know that it was that complicated. I thought that since there's no central exchange, barrier of entry would be much lower. Oh well - IB sounds good.
