Yes, I think you've hit the nail here. I used to scalp for a point or so but realised that there was only 1 or 2 good moves to be had usually, in the morning. Might as well wait for them and hold for a reasonable target. And we always feel less willing to re-enter after a loss.

Early afternoon can be nasty. easy to get in too early. Maybe giving your trades more room but picking only the best is the way? This would also allow you more time to process your info and assess the odds. As killer said, a couple of decent moves a day and you're there. Forget the scalps.
