    Psychopath "Tells"

Empathy means to share the feelings of others. This is different to understanding their compulsions and needs. The former is identifying with their sorry/joy/guilt etc. etc, the latter understanding the reasons for it. It is more of a logical insight.

    Psychopath "Tells"

Oh, I would also add they have a grandiose sense of their own importance. A sort of anti-humility. They think themselves the centre of the universe. They think they are gods.

    Psychopath "Tells"

Yes, they can see the silly motivations in general humanity. They know what most people want/need. Don't we all. Most people are very predictable.

    Psychopath "Tells"

Paticia Highsmith's Ripley is the proto fictional psychopath. He is controlled and manipulative but not without compassion for his fellow man. Empathy, no, but if they fit his profile of 'worthwhile individual' he has time for them. He has high standards and those that do not live up to them are...

    LMAX for spot fx

I've got an account with Oanda still but I'll use this for hedging and as a back-up. Oanda are good but clever, you know. I've noticed they 'freeze' their prices at crucial inflection points. Little games but it adds up. LMAX are getting me into the market instantly, no conflict of interest...

    LMAX for spot fx

Just a mention. LMAX (London Multi-asset Exchange). A very interesting concept. JPM and GS are liquidity providers. Thompson Reuters. data. DMA model, no MM. Reasonable commissions (same as IB). I've just opened an account and am receiving 200:1 margin; great. I don't have to stick 10,000...

    beauty of free speech

New thread pulled 'beauty of math' . Why? Was going to go from philosophical generalities to more pertinent concerns for the active trader. Suggests some very intollerant monitoring.

    Trading Math - Part I

LOL Wise words! We're all just poking around in the dark. Can't do anything about central/ GS type bank manipulation. You can do all the maths you want but if the big governments want to push a price somewhere they'll do it and you'll be the last to know. Forgetaboutit!

    IB TWS Charts not loading

No fx data all day in UK. Others are same in IB chat room. But no messages or notifications from IB. In six years as a client this is the first time I feel they have behaved poorly.

    Is Trading a Mass/Crowd Psychology?

Some interesting thoughts/ axioms and concepts have been expressed. Thanks to those. My little input hardly adds to anything already stated but it has taken me 5 years to be able to read the market's 'language', as Jack would have it. I'm far from a fluent reader and I am prone to the...

    Kids = worthless investment?

Lots of people breed with little thought. Very bad. Many should not breed at all. There are too many humans eating away at earth's resources and a slowly disappearing diversity in nature. Very bad. Kid's can give a person a role in life and bring out noble qualities. Very good...

five years later (the previous 5), still struggling!

Looking at a 2 min chart is a cast iron certainty that you'll exit too early. No? I like to look at the shape of a 5 min on the index (not futures) but using a non-time based bar gives a clear picture as you are dealing with pure price, IMO. A simple fact is that a larger range threshold will...

five years later (the previous 5), still struggling!

It started getting better for me when I stopped trading for a tiny profit and started trading for an intraday swing. I lowered my exposure to the point where I was comfortable with my predetermined potential loss. Now I think 'fuck it! it's a small loss', if I feel the squeeze. I never jettison...
