Guys, is it possible to trade this product on a mid term timeframe (2 weeks)?? I'm looking at the statistics of this contract on the EurexUS website and there is literally no volume at all. Can anybody share some insight? Thanks guys.

Yes, I have been to that page many times. But say I had 5000 in my account, I thought IB would leverage me 4 times so I would have 20000 buying power. So whatever futures margin requirements would then apply to this 20,000... Do you get me??????

Sorry if this is an incorrect forum to post this. I opened up an IB Margin account thinking they would provide 4 times buying power for me. But apparently this only applies to US stocks, is this correct? Or can buy more futures aswell? Thanks everyone

Roach is total loser, he is a permanent chicken little on the US economy and rarely is right about anything. I stopped reading his stuff about 6 months ago because it never changes. Read something from 1 year ago and read something 1 week ago and is virtually the same analysis :p

I actually cannot think of any assets that rise in a rising interest rate economy. You'd probably have to buy one of those short-mutual funds (fixed income) or go do outright shorts on bonds or something.

Thanks Guys for the replys. Sideshowbob, that was my concern, that I'll be paying interest on positions that are less than my cash balance, the IB margin rep (Matt I think) told me in no uncertain terms that I would and a seperate (very rude lol) lady told me "absolutly not, you would not"...

Can anyone help me out with this question: If I have a margin account with IB and I make a trade that is less than my cash balance will I still be borrowing on margin? E.g. if I had $5000 in my account and bought $100 worth of stock will IB be lending me $75 on top of the $25 margin...

I'm planning to start trading equity index derivatives soon and I'm wondering what's everybody's opinion on Russell 1000 futures on EurexUS. I like the Russell 1000 because it has a 99.7% correlation to the S&P 500 and much better margin requirements and commissions. I'm no day trader...
