I have a hi/low scanner. Most of it is chop but everday I find several stocks w clearly visible trends. It is easier in the afternoon. If the potential trade fits in with my rules, i take the trade!

Save up the 5k and trade with "Prop" firm. Not a true prop firm, as you have to put up front $ but at least you are your own boss. Competitive fee structure, 20:1 or better and no pdt rule. Have at it....if you think you are ready

Have an account w S-trade for a couple years. I am a U.S. citizen. It hasn't been a problem. Since you are a Canadian, there are other offshore brokers that might better serve you. There is another firm in Bahamas that has no PDT rule, low account min and offers free limit orders.

I take as many trades as fit my rules. Typically 3-4 but as many as 10 some days. I haven't been profitable consistently and commisions are adding up (Suretrader). Likely will scale back and adjust stategy. My best day was 12%, my worst was 7% but I have had several -4% days recently. Been a...
