    Where does destroyed wealth go?

I was looking at it from one asset class to make it simple. If the OP understands that prices are set at the margin he will have his answer.

    Where does destroyed wealth go?

To summarise what others have said here, there can't be "an equal number of winners" because prices are set at the margin. It only takes one seller at a lower price to reduce everyone's wealth.

    Can interest rate go negative?

Nominal lending rates do not go negative as explained by plugger above. Deposit rates can go negative as they did in Switzerland in the 70's.

global wealth being destroyed on purpose

According to Aaron Russo, most in the Council For Foreign Relations mistakenly believe they are contributing to the greater good: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=1263677258215075609 As for anyone who thinks there has been little inflation over the years, you need only open your...

    Hyper Inflation Risks?

Nobody may want deflation but it will eventually come, it's just a question of how deep it will be when it arrives, and that, as everyone should know, is dependant on the level of inflation that preceded it. Just look at how the German economy collapsed and their unemployment rate soared after...

Weber Says Higher Rates May Be Needed After Recovery

I agree that the rest of the world has yet to decouple from the US, but you may need to update your reference books: the economy of the European Union as a whole is the worlds largest economy. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_GDP_(PPP)

A recession is much, much worse than high inflation?

Spot on. Or as the old adage goes, 'inflation begets deflation'. As general rule of thumb, the bigger the inflation, the bigger the resulting deflation, and since we've had an overly extended period of inflation thanks to a careless Fed and irresponsible government, you can imagine the deflation...

    Weak USD not inflationary?

When the rest of the world has had enough of the US exporting its inflation to it, deflation will follow, but not for the US. It's lining itself up for the mother of all inflations under an idiotic Fed. Faber makes more sense to me than the New York Fed...

"The US went to war because iraq wanted oil priced in euros"

Daal As Ursa said above, the US may want a weaker $ but will wage war to avoid a worthless $. Moreover, the inflationary impact of all those $$$'s now outside the US heading back home will economically devastate the US. Just look at 1920's Germany for a taste of what can happen under an...

    The new World order.

Yes, because when the word is used it is always is in reference to the same entity, but with the word god it may refer to our God or another god.

How Can So Few Have Taken So Much

Come back to me in 20 years when you are drowning in forms and petrified of doing the wrong thing in case the State calls on you.

    The new World order.

I think the creator of that video is over reacting and should stay away from horror films: the word God does not always need to be capitalised, like when we refer to Mars being a god of war, etc. The MS spell checker is just not sophisticated enough to tell the difference.

How Can So Few Have Taken So Much

Our very nature is to be free, so any Order with a premise of control and denial of basic liberties does not have our best interests at heart and should be rejected. Charles Mingus in his song, based on Niemoller's poem, puts it beautifully: One day they came and they took the Communists...

    Slavery in the USA

Lets not forget the most insidious tax, inflation. It was not all that long ago when a man with even limited skills could afford to buy a house and raise a family on his income alone. Now both man and wife need to be highly skilled and working to be in position to buy (and keep) that same house...

Fed Wakes Up To Hedge Fund Risks

When you are sucking air out of a tube, just remember what you just said. The reality is that this planet's life support system cannot support 6 Billion people living like Americans. No trees + no fish = no humans. Get it? That's about all I have to say on this thread.
