    Offsetting price risk

I guess I could purchase a 30 year bond. I would have to margin 9% of my account. I would want to hedge the price risk so I would have to purchase put options on 30 year bonds. Or sell futures on 30 year bonds. When I margin a 30 year bond are there 30 year bond options or futures that...

    Offsetting price risk

How much safety is there in this? There is some risk in a credit spread though?

    Offsetting price risk

I currently trade on 100k. I typically like to purchase 100k worth of notes and then trade against them. 1 year notes yield nothing right now. 30 year bonds yield close to 5%. I want to put all of it in 30 bonds but then I have to worry about price risk if I want to exit. Anyone have...

    A really stupid question

No not at all because you can't back test it. I usually use the average true range for placing my trades. But most of it is based off of instinct. I have a system set up but also use instincts and fundamental analysis to exit positions or let winning trades ride. That's something that...

    A really stupid question

I'm not buying at the high or selling at the low. I actually trade on two accounts and hedge the position. I use buy stops and sell stops. So if silver is $30 an ounce I will place a buy stop at $31.5 and a sell stop at $28.5 I let the market decide which way it will go. If I get hit on...

    A really stupid question

I've been trading for a while and just recently started using buy and sell stops. I will place a buy stop if I think the market will rally....I won't go in at the market but will place a buy stop slightly above the market's price. I kind of noticed that I will get hit and the market's...

I hold them overnight as well. ZSL looks pretty good I think it could easly move to 20 or 30 if we see a sell off in silver.

List of inversely and directly related futures markets

That's a great idea. I can't believe they don't have an indicator for this.

List of inversely and directly related futures markets

Yeah I'll do it. Let me know. I'd like to know how the markets continually relate to each other

List of inversely and directly related futures markets

That's a good idea. I know I trade technically so I try to find as many markets as I can. The only problem is determining which ones are related and which ones are inversely related.

List of inversely and directly related futures markets

It seems like all of the commodity markets are related to some degree. I guess because everything is denominated in the dollar. This is kind of a pain trading multiple markets. Are the grains pretty closely related to metals and energy??

    Related and inversely related markets

One more thing. Say if you have 15 forex pairs you're looking at. It looks like this just will work two at a time. How do you weed out all of the15 pairs that are related. It seems like it's very hard to trade multiple pairs because most are closely related.

    Related and inversely related markets

I just have couple of questions on how to use this. There is a hourly, daily and weekly correlation. Does that relate to hourly, daily and weekly charts or just actualy hourly, daily and weekly pricing. Also what do you recommend on correlation measurements. I was kind of thinking...

List of inversely and directly related futures markets

Yeah I meant how gold and the dollar are inversely related. Oil and gold are related. For forex this is helpful http://www.mataf.net/en/tools/01-01-correlation in determining how much markets are related. Is there anything that tracks the futures markets showing how similar they are as well.
