How long has IB been margining a single side for IC's? My brother used to work on your desk there at IB(it was several yrs ago). He would tell me stories about customers calling in furious about the amount of margin u used to charge.

DO NOT use IB for credit spreads(IC's) they will charge you margin for both sides of the IC. Thus, an 8% return for the month will be halved to 4%.(yeah, you get better commisions but terrible margins, and don't me started on their custome service) I think OX, and I know TOS only charges one...

I'm no after hours guru, but can't you show much larger size than you actually have to trade in AH? I thought I read that on the NAZ's website, that you can bluff your size.

hey murray. How about a new DD thread. I agree that there are many more options(adjustments) than IC and r/r is MUCH better as well. Ill contribute to it, I use DD's on equities.

RIMM's vols are 4%th percentile. I'm expecting an 8-12 vol move into Apr 6 earnings. I'm looking at -80c apr,+85c apr. straddle's too much(even if I knew how to scalp gammas). any thoughts on a more appropriate vol trade?

def perhaps i was a bit harsh on IB in retrospect. I understand your philosophy, highly automated strict risk control allows you to offer extremely competetive commisions. Plus you make markets from New York to Pluto.:p I also hear you are doing some good things for volatility traders...

what a bunch of useless charlatans IB is. I mean, let's call a spade a spade people. I think most people think they are getting great value with cheap commisions, but at what eventual cost? They don't seem customer oriented. It's a strange business model. I took my bat and ball elsewhere...

question for all you commodity traders. My software is showing a strong correlation between vol levels(both iv and hv) and price action in many commodities. I'm not sure if it's an anomoly or the norm. If it's the latter, wouldn't it be easier to trade vol in commodities? can anyone point me...
