The question is: Do you think the REALLY good and successful traders (Wizards) use any type of a mechanical or any system that you can be automated in their trading?

I don't use Sprint myself but I know their service varies from place to place. I heared they are improving in many areas.

I believe it's not specifically the speed of the connection but the lag from IB's servers. Once your session has timed out it's a problem to log in again. I assume there are other things involved as well in the way the TWS java client logs to the servers.

We'll see how the summer goes. So far August has not been that great... BUt i'm not in a hurry... :)
