Let's cool it with the ad hominums and stick to trading, okay?

Stop lowered to break-even. If we can get below 1505 I think it can go to 1499 for a gap close. (Big "if"!) Edited: You know Lance, we could both be right. But me first. :) Let's close the gap and then retest the highs. That should make everyone happy. Edited: Saw that coming, raised...

I'm betting on the 20%. Short (again) at 1507, with a tight stop at 1507.50 just in case Lance is right!

Apex, the bulls obviously ate their Wheaties this morning. I smell a plot. I think B1S2 may be behind it. :D

I think by "close the gap" Apex means down to 1499 from here.

    Quite possible, good point.

Why? Why not just tighten your stop? The market could go down in reaction to the Fed decision (or not).

Apex82, for clarification, do you normally enter a position all at once and then exit in three (equal or unequal?) installments as your successive profit targets are reached? I went short ES at 1511.75 in the Globex at 18:15, currently +2pts and holding my short position for lower.

Looking at your chart...wasn't there another ascending triangle the previous week and ended with a rapid 20-point decline? Why is this week's triangle different from last week's?

Thanks. The failed trade (-2.25 pts) was caused by my mistaken conviction that "they" would close the gap; rats!

Looks like it passed through that zone both ways in the last 30 minutes. What do you think that signifies? Apex82, I went short ES at 1514 early in yesterday's Globex session, and am still holding my short waiting for an exit point. Presently ahead 7 pts on this trade, with a buy stop at...

B1S2, when you're right, you're right! :( Closed out short at 1514.25 for -2.00. What can I say...seemed like a good idea at the time. Close-the-gap trades seem to have a high probability of success unless the gap was caused by a news surprise. I didn't consider this morning's employment...
