Can someone explain the secured prop leverage vs risk issue?

Using a lot of leverage for arbitrage can be dangerous. First, if it is a true arb position where the two sides are exchangable for each other then there is little capital requirement. If it is a risk arbitrage position (i.e. takeovers, etc.) then you have a lot more risk than you are...

    real time news?

I have friends at ETG as I used to be a trader there. They tell me that ETG is giving them this service if you are in an office for free for now and working on getting it for all their traders, both customers and prop including remote. Why is this service so dependant on this Ogg guy? I...

Are there any firms that DON'T charge their traders $1,000 per training session?

I agree on the type of person to look for. As someone once said, "It's what I learned after 'I knew it all' that made me a success."

Are there any firms that DON'T charge their traders $1,000 per training session?

When you look for a training program, look for a trainer who is willing to answer questions and more importantly, can ask YOU the right questions. A trainer who tells you what to do is worthless. He must lead you along the path of self-discovery. The guy who trained me at ETG in...

If 80% lose why you think you can make it?

INDAHOOK is right. Simply because I KNOW I can. I was prepared to do whatever it took and I had basic talent along the lines of trading. To go into an endevour such as trading thinking that you won't be successful is self defeating. Look at all the successful traders who are no smarter...

Are there any firms that DON'T charge their traders $1,000 per training session?

I knew we were in agreement. Too often, on these boards especially, if we (me included) just took the time to listen (or read carefully) to what is being said instead of preparing an attack, we might actually all agree. Trading is too hard to learn. While the basics of trading rules and...

Are there any firms that DON'T charge their traders $1,000 per training session?

You missed the point. First, though to address your point, I agree that a trader who goes into this thinking about his losses will be a loser. A winner does not worry about his loss percentage because he is a winner not a loser. My point was that training a trader is not something that can...

Are there any firms that DON'T charge their traders $1,000 per training session?

One of the paid advertisers said you get what you pay for. Just because you pay a fee does not mean you get value nor does getting something for free mean you got nothing of value. Often, the cost is not measured in dollars. I was trained in this business for "free". I went through a major...

Does WorldCo, Schonfeld, Andover or other propreitary firm have office in Atlanta ?

As far as I know, the top rate anybody pays there is $0.01 per share all inclusive of ECNs etc. They get retroactive rebates based on volume. Payout is 75-80-85% based on tiers. Not sure where the break points are. The deal for a trainee may be different.

Does WorldCo, Schonfeld, Andover or other propreitary firm have office in Atlanta ?

ETG has a big office in Atlanta and a big training program there. They are a class organization that purposely stays under the radar so to speak. They just doubled in size by buying ProTrader. Bob K just retired as CEO and the new CEO is a guy named Jeff who used to be my office manager in...
