    IB your service is terrible

:D now that's funny... I have a mental image of taodr ranting mindlessly for hours into a CB handset about PDT, IB, and wire transfers with a bunch of truckers riding along listening in their cabs, laughing their asses off....

Don't you just love the French?

EXACTLY. Which is why the non-few should watch, scrutinize, and criticize (PATRIOT Act nonwithstanding) every move these bastards make, and try to prevent them from overstepping their bounds. History shows conclusively that sooner or later, independent of party or country or law, they...

Don't you just love the French?

Holy s** rs7 - you really do type fast! :D I agree that a discussion of the Electoral College is enough for its own thread (and its own board, if it goes into Maddux and state's rights, I think!) - and not in line with this one... I was just trying to defend the system a bit, as it has...

Don't you just love the French?

great points. there are always at least two valid opposing arguments for any non-scientific issue, and at least one other that hasn't occurred to you yet. also, imo, the best way to test your own conclusion is to try to argue the opposite side.

Don't you just love the French?

The U.S. was founded as a collection of states, however much that system has been corrupted. There are excellent reasons for that - I can't hope to argue them better than the founding fathers themselves - I recommend starting with the Federalist Papers for some terrific (but lengthy)...

Poll: Which U.S. Rule is the most brilliant?

to be on the safe side, maybe it would be better to do the new year's beatdown on dec. 31, then give her a reminder when she wakes up on jan. 1, thus obeying the law.... another good one: New York Citizens may not greet each other by "putting one's thumb to the nose and wiggling the...

Don't you just love the French?

not really a shocker, even though they're starting to push it -- Australia maybe, but Canada? if they wanted to invade Antarctica, osama would probably start issuing conveniently-timed jihad edicts on behalf of penguins...

Bush slashes federal raises, blames terror

The magic justification - works on everything from the 4th Amendment to budget gaps. Wonder if the recent Congressional pay raises will 'interfere' with the 'war on terrorism' too? LOL ----------------------- Bush slashes federal raises, blames terror Saturday, November 30, 2002...

    Osama's 'Letter to America'

By "bastard(s)" I was referring to osama and those who support his violence. I don't know whether you intended offense, but in any case I don't have any political agenda -- I am trying to understand this situation, from all sides. I am horrified at the idea of a future of living in fear...

    Osama's 'Letter to America'

[not trying to speak for daniel_m] osama is an arch-criminal and a cowardly murderer. Killing unsuspecting, innocent civilians, much less women and children, is not justifiable under any circumstances, imo. That said, it seems that he did what he did for some REASONS, however much we may...

    should Augusta allow women members?

by that logic, if you have a FNMA/GNMA mortgage we all share in your liability to some degree - and because all of us paid in some small part for the road joining your driveway, we all deserve access to your house, right? (party at Tampa's, tomorrow night  )

    Cable companies capping service

It may be a problem for the cable company - that's what service agreements and civil litigation are designed to handle. But there is no way to justify that kind of action by the state.

    Cable companies capping service

"When you consider the fact that the largest American telecommunications firms are often part of the same mega-corporation with music, video or movie-producing entertainment divisions -- such as AOL-Time Warner -- you can see how an industry-regulated Internet would handily end music and movie...

    should Augusta allow women members?

members of fringe groups do, because it gets media attention, which is the primary goal of fringe groups. it will come down to corporate sponsorship and tv advertisers - if they cave, so will the club.
