For the San Diego area:
Rancho del Rey, Downtown San Diego, La Jolla, Del Mar, Solana Beach, Rancho Sante Fe, Fairbanks Ranch, Poway and some of Carlsbad. Those are the main ones, I am sure I left a couple cities out.
My parents bought ocean front in Del Mar in 1976 for 240K. Flipped it in 1982 for 800K. Today the same property is valued at 7.5 million. How about that. :D
The last thing I wanted to do was make you feel like shit. Believe it or not the only reason I posted anything to this thread was to let people know it is not hopeless.
And for the record, we are talking about 2 months into the year. Who knows how everyone will end up in december. And like I...
Mecro, no disrespect intended here. But you might want to accept that people have different thresholds regardless of the money they have or their experience. A bad trade might demoralize you, but that is not so for everyone. You need to stop speaking in generalization. If he, or any of us, have...
Here is the excel sheet.
And Mecro...I am not BS at all about the guy trading for 10 months. He is an outlier no doubt... Believe me or don't, but there are more than a couple people on this board that know I am being honset.
I am not going to get into some kind of 1st grade pissing contest with you guys. Does not matter to me one way or the other...but just b/c my credibility is being questioned I am going to post a screen shot of todays PNL along with my excel worksheet for my YTD.
Trend Fader, if you were...
God I love comments like this. Hey if you don't know anyone doing it, it must be false. LMFAO. I sit next to a guy that is up over 60K the last 6 weeks and he has been trading for about 10 months. In that time, his worst month was still net positive. There are plenty of people making good money...
It amazes me that people on this board continue to bash Assent without mentioning which office they trade out of and where they are located. I am sure you guys know that most every office is ran differently. If you have had some experiences in NY, chances are that you would have a completely...
Don, I am missing something here. This deal quoted above and the one that started this thread is just simply not a good deal.
Both are only a tad better than the deal Van Buren was offering 4 freakn years ago.
In 1999 the deal at Van Buren was as follows....
No capital up front
50%...
Yes, they all stood. We called ARCA when we saw the first print and they informed us they had permission to open. So the guy that was short jumped on the 45 something and those of us that were flat took it for a ride. Even after our guy talked to ARCA, still was thinking they were going to be...
Exactly, the funny thing is that the people who screwed up and were on the wrong side were the ones that benefited from it. So a guy in our office was short, covered when ARCA opened at 45. So he basically initiated a long position and took it for 10 points to 55. Talk about a reversal in...
I never trade nazcrap...but damn that was some fun yesterday. Very entertaining stuff. Of course I was only trading two lots on account I had no idea what I was doing............but still had a blast. :D
Amen, but its the price we pay. I have a friend who just bought a real nice brand new house in Tulsa for $189,000. For that price in San Diego, if I am lucky I can get a 30 year old 475 sq. ft. studio in a "decent" neighborhood.
But when taking into account Tulsa and San Diego...its a no...
I will admit when I first heard the news I thought it was going to be just awful. But after only three days I have yet to really miss them. Trading has been fine and there has been a lot of money to be made, so far no big deal at all.
As far as firms are concerned, there is no denying that a...
IMO hammer is the without a doubt the platform you are going to want to use without bullets.....if you've used it, you know what I mean. These last two days my PnL and volume has not been effected at all. Sure, I would prefer to have the bullet, but you can still get into the move.
No I know what you are saying. I can still get short, but I haven't been able to get anything above 1500 shares so far and it has been much harder to get. With Bullets I can cross the market .10 and watch the idiots pick me off when the stock is going to move .50. If things stay like this....its...
Even if you don't use them it still effects the action of a stock a great deal. Most of my trades were dependent on crossing the market on ECN's which so far this morning has been damn near impossible. Can someone try and explain why the SEC would do this? Just trying to phase out DT's, try and...
Well, if you always talked about return than most people I know would be in the thousands percent. If you start with 10K in a prop account, most decent traders make at least 15-20k/month.
I know in the San Diego and LA offices we have been down maybe two or three times in the last year. I have heard some stories though from one of our guys that is trading in NY right now. Looks to be a NY/East Coast problem. Your probably correct that it is due to the influx of traders recently...
