I think it all depends on inflation, if inflation is running at 3% and you can get 5 or 6% from a 3 year bond my bet is a lot of older people will take that and exit equities.

personally i've never met a mechanical trader that makes his livingly solely from trading... i've met some discretionary traders that do, and i've associated with hundreds of full-time traders over the last 6 years. my guess is once you've watched and traded the market for many years you...

if you are using 20-30c stops you shouldn't hold overnight, I believe you have to reap the rewards of holding overnight in order for the risk to be worth it, you will get rocked badly once in a while if you hold overnights and thats a fact!

What are the trading hours on the QM and QG futures, they seem to open at 10am but it doesn't say that on the NYMEX website?

I know someone that bought 1000 shares of NT at $80. He also is convinced he has never had a losing trade. I guess it's not a big deal being down 96% or about $77K. It's just a trade in a drawdown and it will come back eventually. LOL... why kill the trade? If you liked it at 80 you must...

my personal definition would be... Placing a trade in the direction of a clearly defined trend. Example, buying a stock making new highs, the more new highs per period the more momentum.
