No important news today anymore until 15:00 GMT when Bernanke testifies. So hopefully some OK, not news distorted setups happen.

Yeah, range on 1h may be enough for scalpers to pick some pips. :)

2% on DEMO account, until he's consistently profitable (not to be called a newbie). Then start with very small risk on real (like 0.25%) and slowly increase. Otherwise emotional issues will show their face and will lead to losses.
