    Acrary's Strategy Formation

Please don't anyone take this as speaking for acrary because I'm certainly not qualified, but I All of the statistics work that acrary did seemd to assume a random distribution of trades. Not everyone has this. If that assumption holds, you are correct to assume that you will get...

Backtesting with Fixed Size vs Fixed Ratio

Why not do both. Any reason to limit yourself to just one? The fixed size helps you determine if you have an edge or not. Fixed ratio will help you see how "stable" the system is. ie how aggressivly you can add size.

    The market cannot defeat you

If you htink thta the market is "rigged against your stratagy, (support resistence levels, etc) Why not try a different stratagy? They won't keep changing to "take out" you. Maybe the strat is bad. Is the resaurant industry riggerd against new resaurants? 90% of them fail too. I trade...

    Laid off traders seek shrinks

It is hard to feel sorry for anyone who has been at an exchange for 30 years to be let go. If you are any good, you should retire/not "need" the job a LONG time before that. Just like you don't play AA baseball for 30 years, you either make it to the bigs, or you get out.

    Positionsizing market-neutral strategies

No, you could have two "breakout" systems with slightly different conditions for long and short. Or you could have a "long term, long only, trending following system" with a "short term over bought reversion stratagy". Horrillibcus (sp?) talked about something like thsi in a thread...
