http://www.thinkbigworksmall.com/mypage/archive/1/29027 Check out this sweetheart deal given by the FDIC to IndyMac/OneWest. (5:37 video) (gist: IndyMac and others will do what's most profitable for them based on "kickbacks" and prior "agreements" for. So they may refuse a loan mod...

Is the US Govt trying to sabotage Toyota?

Younger sister still has a 2000 from the parents pass-down. Drives like a charm and accelerates very well IMO. I tend to think things were just fine until a certain year hit where it began to go downhill for varying financial/cost/contractual reasons. Based on the recalls it could be in the...

Is the US Govt trying to sabotage Toyota?

nope, but I have driven a lot with test drives (as I will need to buy roughly within the next year or two give or take), rental cars, and have spoken with several area small-time/private mechanics...plus have done my own research. (I finally moved out of my local auto body shop after they tried...

Is the US Govt trying to sabotage Toyota?

It will take that long though... Hyundai's still aren't quite there for the reliability/"easy to fix" factor and Kia's are still junk (you get what you pay for there) Toyota, Honda & Nissan are still the Top 3 in my book...Hyundai though is a close 4.

Obama to push 30b of TARP money for small banks to make small business loans

it's nos so much even to hire...the banks that DO have the money can't find good prospects to lend to as many's credit is trashed or maxed out. But if the government will back it, regardless if one will be able to pay it or not based on their risk...hey more free $$$.

    Fannie, Freddie Chase Bad Mortgages

between Countrywide and BoA in and of themselves, then merging together, the amount of poor crap they wrote or got sold is mind-boggling. Even with this vigilance, there's too much to overcome overall; sure it'll help down the road, but foreclosures will continue in the meantime...

Lenders Pursue Mortgage Payoffs Long After Homeowners Default

“The banks have been too underwater with foreclosures to spend much time on deficiency judgments, but that’s beginning to change,” Hillard said in an interview. “This is going to be the next big crisis.” Get a bunch of cases going now before the next reset this year holds things...

How do you fix your credit after a bankruptcy?

They don't check anymore..the process is basically rubber-stamped and if that other account was always paid on time to begin with, then it likely won't get noticed until well after the fact. 7-10 years a bankruptcy stays on the record. After discharge, get a secured card asap and start...

People are upset that some Haitians actually want to work!

Damned if they do, damned if they don't...
  18. M

So we got money for HAITI, but we don't have money for Americans, DAMN

$10 goes a long way to Haiti....if you use it IN Haiti. Otherwise, it goes to the Red Cross here...which we all tend to know how much % donations end up covering administrative costs for these types of places... absolute joke.

Sorry doom and gloomers. The real estate market is hot in California.

very valid point. The few areas like these, not only see what sold, but what the mortgage obtained was on it...if a lot are paying higher downs in cash as indicated above (IMO I would like to see @ least 35%), then this will keep that market "hot" for at least a short time...unless ALL the...
