I am not surprised with the housing data, it will get worse.

Right now loan mods are accounting for about 31%...still too high as is, but also showing how many were way over it.

i have just maxed out my credit card

put it this way...if you are negative after all the numbers, then filing is a breeze...anyone disputing it is just being a hard-ass because really, what can you get out of being negative? It's when you own the houses, cars, etc. etc. with all payments and other assets where things can get a...

    The Worst Bill Ever

like any bill, the good gets weighed with the bad. And right now, the bad outweighs the good. Hey I have my state-run health insurance at a scant $39/month...but I wouldn't want to see this thing go through as is.

Is this what is on the books of BOA?

many CW/BofA (yea one and the same but I love using them both) bank-owned homes right now aren't even being listed. Actually again here in Mass. they were supposedly pulled off the market after a judge ruled on some illegal foreclosures (the representative wasn't the representative for the...

Is this what is on the books of BOA?

My colleague I work for just got the BofA/CountryWide contract for homes in Massachusetts. Delinquents/pre-foreclosures, etc. These are to be "serviced" (i.e. checked on every month) and try to talk to the homeowners/leave cards behind. Problem? It's only about 9,000 homes to hit up...

Is this what is on the books of BOA?

that's a lot of 180+ days on there...unfortunately many states passed some kind of moratorium (typically 90 days) which merely adds to the time it takes to foreclose on top of each state's general time line. Meaning that most of these are about to hit the bricks by the end of this year/early...

200,000 American Unemployed Per Month Losing Unemployment Benefits

Why not? When you can sit at home and collect virtually the same as if you were working 30-40 hours a week...in theory it would allow you to study a new skill that potentially would pay off better. Of course many don't follow that routine and think the lazy way.

•U.S. Home Vacancies Increase to 18.8 Million as Lenders Seize Properties

More and more delinquents will continue the foreclosures into 2010, 2011 & 2012 as the process to foreclose is long enough as is, and will get longer as lenders drag their feet before forcing to do so. I inspect enough of them and see plenty of abandoned places; people just up and left (and...

Erickson Retirement Communities files for Chapter 11

not the only one. I had a retirement community near me file Chapter 11 some months ago. Not as wealthy/big as this one, but probably more of you might say an "average" one. These places just burn through money that the salespeople rope the elderly/their families into paying to get in...

Sign of the Times: 20 Year Old Buys Home with just 3.5% Down

wow...just wow. Now the $64,000 question. Did she use that 8K credit toward down payment? If so, congratulations, there's your house with virtually no money down! (or <1%). I give her 5 years if she doesn't try to flip it first before foreclosure. Which sucks, but looks like is the new...
