    • Foreclosures Filings in U.S. Surpass 300,000 for Eighth Consecutive Month

Massachusetts. Higher priced in the NE. I've seen plenty of people underwater falling behind as I run routes to remind them to call their lenders :D Bought either low and OK or at the peak and overpaid. The former they refinanced to the hilt (2 and sometimes 3 mortgages). Latter are...

    • Foreclosures Filings in U.S. Surpass 300,000 for Eighth Consecutive Month

Being underwater for some is apparently fine because they have no intentions of selling and plan on staying...it's just once they fall behind on payments and can't meet things anymore do they truly realize it's better to jump ship.

Sept car sales tracking at lowest of recession

I would agree on that but it's kind of hyped up to be things are OK again...but probably in reality if it's to prop things up for a little bit, only to go back to where things were, then is it worth it in the end for the little shot in the arm? I guess it really depends on how these jobs are...

Just got another couple of vacants out and about today! Mail 'em back and let the bank take it...or just leave. Got a few more that should happen soon. Meanwhile, new delinquents have popped in to replace them...it just keeps on going.

Delinquencies and Foreclosures at Record Highs, with Shadow Inventories Looming

I've got nearly 1000 deteriorating on my servicing route...all within about a 40-mile radius. And those are the ones I know of. Who knows how many more there are... Every time I go out I find a few new delinquencies come down and a few new ones vacant...some for over a year and nothing...

    Is This Real?

My area bank puts a hold on larger check deposits/cashed checks. Not sure of the minimum amount but I'm willing to guess around 2000 as I just tried to deposit a 3500 check on Friday and take out 1000. "We have to put a hold on the check." Paperwork to sign and acknowledge...$100 (yes...

Total US unemployment rate hits 17.5%

In the Zacks analysis (http://www.zacks.com/stock/news/27000/Weak+Employment+Report), it closes with: "All in all, a disappointing jobs report. Yes we are making some progress, but it is not nearly fast enough. The unemployment rate is now far above the peak seen even in the "more adverse"...

Is bad credit a character flaw?

I don't fully buy into the not getting a job bit with a low credit score these days. Maybe a few spots might check it out...but they should have to disclose they are pulling your report when you apply, or are getting interviewed, etc. Otherwise IMHO there's just too many applicants to be...

Is bad credit a character flaw?

at that point, I'd stop using them...well, actually I'd use them very lightly. Like one for all gas purchases and then pay it off in full every month. Let the card company close it down...then fight it :D

Hopefully not a (future) sign of the times..?

How many more are like this guy? http://www.cnn.com/2009/CRIME/11/06/orlando.shooting.suspect/index.html Orlando, Florida (CNN) -- The suspect in Friday's shooting of six people in a downtown high-rise is a 40-year-old "man with economic woes that include a recent bankruptcy filing...

Fannie Mae to Rent Foreclosed Homes Back to Borrowers

in certain spots, quite possibly sure. But for your average, "regular" home the rents work out in favor for the homeowner who was stuck either upside down or in a lousy loan to begin with. Of course the other point was made...why do such a thing if they can't afford their mortgage or even a...

Fannie Mae to Rent Foreclosed Homes Back to Borrowers

Just sounds like a one year lease, renewable each year...albeit usually means it can be terminated along the way due to certain actions...of course that'll depend on the wording of said lease. Yep rent your home for a year, then finally get kicked out because the lease won't get renewed! :)...
