Republicans: Trillions Could Be Cut from Budget if We Eliminate Empathy

I didn't read it line by line. That one does seem 100% implausible, but the lines before it certainly don't. At any rate, it's not worse than I thought it's just as bad.

Republicans: Trillions Could Be Cut from Budget if We Eliminate Empathy

Not at all. You are likely stupid if the things you say are frequently factually wrong or morally questionable from a reasonably objective point of view. Maybe you're one of those people who doesn't find the items of these types appalling (to each his own), which is fine, but you can't then turn...

Republicans: Trillions Could Be Cut from Budget if We Eliminate Empathy

    a) I'm not an American b) I think a lot of people including (maybe especially) Americans are idiots (look at that scatasomething guy) c) It doesn't surprise me that one of your politicians might be an idiot too, to appeal to the voters. You have Michelle Bachman, Sarah Palin and so forth, I...

Trying to make it on my own

Meh, the whole "mentality" thing is so overrated. I haven't really ever heard succesful people say that it was all due to their optimistic outlook or something similar. Persistance of course is important, but even moreso is skill and also luck. The ideas put forward by those books such as...

Republicans: Trillions Could Be Cut from Budget if We Eliminate Empathy

Is this for real? This is what the top political class produces? It's so much worse than I thought... :(

Anyone have a reason why the market should go down?

All right dude. Then why are you still not explaining why this time is different, or is that above your paygrade?

Anyone have a reason why the market should go down?

This is where you go wrong. It depends on the sample size whether it is an indicator or not. If past results from event A are consistent over a high number of individual situations spread across time and under very different unique circumstances, you can bet pretty safely that the outcome of...

Anyone have a reason why the market should go down?

I personally would've written an august expiration SPY put to you a few days ago. Now the IV is a bit low unfortunately. Anyway, same old same old. Stupid people thinking they're genius because this time it's different. I've really heard no arguments on why there would be any impact at all...

Anyone have a reason why the market should go down?

puhlease. Many posters here are so clueless it's barely funny. Please answer the following questions: a) How many times in the past have they failed to raise the debt ceiling b) How many times when they failed to raise it, has the market or economy experienced *any* downside and how many...

Doesn't this seem a bit excessive?

I'm not your buddy, pal. Anyway, fair enough you didn't list any entries, but I bet those RIMM shares of yours looked pretty good at 70 bucks a few months ago didn't they?

Doesn't this seem a bit excessive?

Yeah, like all the other pikers who thought it would go down to 1250 so they could buy nice and easy, only to find out a week later it's run away in the most violent way imaginable and they are now left with the option to buy at higher prices or stay out of the action. I really don't have...

Doesn't this seem a bit excessive?

What is wrong with you? A "buying opportunity" is every second there is an ask. I don't think the ask has been gone at any time. Just because you're so fearful you need a dip to buy doesn't mean other people won't have more courage ;) Luckily there's a lot of idiots like you so it's going...

Doesn't this seem a bit excessive?

The only thing I am feeling insecure about here is whether I should become more careful like my personal sentiment usually does (it moves inverse to price thankfully) or if I should become a raging bull here. I've never really become a raging fanatic into a trend (which has caused me in the past...

Doesn't this seem a bit excessive?

I have no idea, but this does look like it could easily be the birth of a solid uptrend in the direction of a new 52-wk high. Worst-case we'll have a chop summer and we retest the lows, but I find that pretty unlikely.

Doesn't this seem a bit excessive?

If you think 5 days is excessive, what are you going to say after weeks or even a few months of getting rear-ended?

Doesn't this seem a bit excessive?

Yeah, on first sight I might agree, but it's not that phenomenal if you consider the sheer amount of volume (and time) that's "trapped" in a negative news and fundamentals spiral sitting below the current move up. You can very easily see these people are collectively realizing their mistakes...
