Reading CFTC Commitment of Traders Data

I don't know if it's a good idea to short now but it's defnitely a bad idea to buy into the rally at these levels. You never know how far exactly they'll run her up until reality gets a hold of the markets. I wouldn't be too surprised if we break out of the current range again but I do think...

Reading CFTC Commitment of Traders Data

I find the analysis proposed here on current state of affairs to be highly unlikely. Things to remember: -Commercial does not necessarily equal "smart money" but equals "insider knowledge". The two things are usually the same but not necessarily equal -Smart money nor insider-traded...

    lets allmove to holland..

This is the source they quote in the article. They claim in the article that if you exclude a large population sample and take only the four largest urban zones the most popular name is Mohammed. I don't see any source backing that up anywhere and I find it unlikely given it's not even in the...

Speculators now messing with world hunger!!!

The thing that bothers me most about this whole thing is that nobody has commented on the fact that the person they chose to deal with all this supposed food mailaise is named ms. Chow.

    lets allmove to holland..

Thanks. Either way, I'm sorry this perception of the Netherlands (Holland doesn't exist) seems to be so prevalent. There are issues with non-native Dutch, but this is mostly standard (i.e. higher crime rates, poverty and so forth) which means they get blamed for everything that goes wrong...

"this time it will be different" but Apple has gone down every time (and there have been a few) it went up and as soon as Jobs stops being CEO or all the Hipsters find some other cool gadget to imprezz their friends with, Apple will return to a fair valuation (i.e. much much smaller than a lot...

    lets allmove to holland..

You people are morons. Someone mentions Holland (incidentally where I am from) and you drivel on about islamic conversion? Stupid hillbillies, probably couldn't even point out your own country on a map. And for the racist fucks, Holland is a bastion of whiteness compared to the US or most...

    Fear and Greed

Well the problem with the COT right now is that the open interest is pretty low on a lot of it so it doesn't really matter as much, however like you probably know then the commercial group is pretty massively (and suddenly) short equities across all indices (and commodities show the same overall...

    Fear and Greed

The "machines" don't have a better way of knowing beforehand whether it would be a good idea to fade a move or not, but they'll be the fastest to the table when it becomes obvious it is. Also not all breakouts should be faded like yr example suggests. There will always be suckers, even if...

    Fear and Greed

I like your analogy and I think that in short-term movements price discovery is very much like this. Especially in FX. I can't believe there are retail traders who actually try to trade FX (or anything) on a second-by-second basis. I sometimes try and it never really works well. That is indeed...

seeking for leveraged futures.... outside equities

Imo, CL is a crazy whore while ES, NQ are classy escorts. They're all out to screw you out of your money but CL is more difficult to trade imo, but it offers "plenty of action". You could also trade interest futures (10 yr note), they're reasonably predictable over the long haul imo.

Why do people believe day trading will get them rich quick?

What is an edge? The market does speak a language but like any language it takes time to learn. Already indicated I find the quest for a mechanical edge among retail traders to be entirely pointless. If anyone could find an edge with MA's, RSI and the like we'd all be billionaires. Just learn...

seeking for leveraged futures.... outside equities

Ok in the first place it's very possible and in some cases a lot easier to trade illiquid instruments and secondly the one I am referring to is edit: Can't paste, just search for msci emerging markets on yahoo finance and select futures only and you'll find the one that trades on the CME. I...

seeking for leveraged futures.... outside equities

You can't get as much leverage but still a good amount (and 50x leverage on equity indices is suicide imo) on the MSCI Emerging Markets (Futures). In case you want to diversify. Also on a sidenote I find this index to be somewhat leading. It's always interesting to watch different indices...

    1% Daily profits system

Hi, I thought I'd pop in to say your fees probably too large a percentage of your p&l to not become a huge hassle. Don't know what broker you're at but since you're a daytrader I think it would be a good idea to switch to a discount broker.

Should I take the leap and quit my job to trade full-time?

Because it's just as likely the nassie will lose 15 points in 60 seconds at any other point in time?

Why do people believe day trading will get them rich quick?

I'm not making baseless statements and I'm not at all interested what % of people lose in options trading because on balance half the money loses and half the money wins (who controls which money is really not that relevant). I don't think 90% of the people trading options really control 10% of...

Why do people believe day trading will get them rich quick?

You have this thin market and that Europe is closed now to thank that I even take the time to write this, but only insane people totally ignore the blatant facts. "I post my trading plan before the market opens. I post my trading summary after the market closes." The first post in that thread...
