    How "Pros" size their trades

Pros and firms use special algos to size trades that seek for liquidity and do partial filss so that the effect on prices is minimized. Their objectives are different, the subject is too complicated and the math too complex for most people without a Ph.D. But you should at least know that.

    Learning Technical analysis?

Save your time, money and future and study statistics and HFT algorithms. TA will get you nowhere unless you are lucky and spend up to 10 years gambling with your money until you learn what works and what doesn't only to find you that it doesn't in the next 10 years.

In other words he is asking you how must 2008 is skewing your results. Maybe he thinks like I do that without 2008, your profit factor will be barely close to 1. However, your work sounds interesting. What is the data timeframe? I think I missed it.

Why I Don't Believe in TA

Everyone knows that TA has stopped working very well after 1990 and it is completely ruined after 2008. Anyone not aware of that it is because he is a paper trader or a troll, plain and simple. http://www.marketwatch.com/story/how-to-know-when-its-time-to-leave-the-party-2013-02-19

    Simple defense of technical analysis

If you are going to buy and hold for 5 years, your win rate better be 100%. Anyone who argues that win rate is not important is probability theory ignorant. Low win rate means higher probability of a large drawdown to drive you broke.

    Luck vs Trading

Luck won't get you too far in trading, maybe one or two trades and that is all except if you are very lucky and you do 10 but that is max. So forget about these professors and psychologists and concentrate on the trade. If you make 500 trades for the year and a 30% return, do not let any of...

How are the markets now from a trading perspective?

Markets are fine. This is the best trading environment in the last 15 years. Many are complaining because they expect to become rich with $500 down. HFT provides enough liquidity at low cost. Those who complain about HFT are losers anyway. In the old days spreads were up to a quarter of a point...

Why doesn't Germany just invade Greece?

True but the question is why the others bought into this scheme. Stupid men, deceived or committed treason? Because they basically sold out their nations to Germany. Greece had a mere 22% of GDP debt before it joined the old ECU in the 1970s...

Greece, or California, or a few other US states?
