Currency Conversion - Looking for Ideas

I posted this question under Forex Trading because I thought someone here might have an answer. Here's my question: I'm a U.S. citizen but in the near future I'll be transferring money on a regular basis to/from Canada. I've discovered that currency conversion is a major source of revenue for...

    Predicting intraday price movement

Your hostile response speaks volumes ... unfortunately, it's Morons like you who cause traders like me to rarely post useful information on this site! There is no table that summarizes the calls and the market change relative to when the call was made. One can hover the cursor over the chart...

    Predicting intraday price movement

For entertainment purposes I checked out the above site. It seemed awfully convenient that they get two attempts per day to predict the Closing Trend i.e. one at 10AM and another at 12:15PM EST. I also found it interesting that their historical track record does not show both calls for each day...

    NYX rocking

I have to admit, this is the type of trading action that I've never been able to figure out ... I guess that's why I'm a system trader. Anyone could have bought all the AX they wanted and it would be converted to NYX on a share for share basis - so NYX wasn't really an IPO. The last few days AX...

Need a program that finds intraday breakouts from a tight range

Most traders are very surprised if/when they perform objective testing on their ideas. They usually learn that what they thought worked ... really doesn't increase the chances of a profitable trade! :) Regards, Slave2Market

Need a program that finds intraday breakouts from a tight range

Have you done any testing on these filters to actually verify that they increase the probability of success for a tight-range intraday breakout? I have done a substantial amount of testing on these types of filters and many, many others, and have yet to find anything that provides a tradable...

Need a program that finds intraday breakouts from a tight range

I've been down the tight-range intra-day breakout path several times over the last 8 years and have yet to find it to be a profitable strategy that can be automated. I've always been enticed by this set-up because it is visually very appealing and appears simple, but ... and with trading there...

Cheapest way to get intraday data?

What type of data are you looking for e.g. Tick, Minute, Hour, Daily? What do you want to analyze e.g. Stocks, Futures, Indexes, Options, Forex? Regards, Slave2Market

    Zero to Low risk investments

That's exactly the problem! I'm sure there are plenty of people who have all the money they need for day trading, but have the rest sitting around earning 4% or less. I haven't been able to develop any multi-day trading systems that require a very small amount of time to implement, can handle...

    Zero to Low risk investments

I'm extremely skeptical about this return, but certainly willing to listen ... please elaborate! Regards, Slave2Market

    Tampa area traders

I live in South Tampa, but I'm not aware of any trading offices ... or any full-time traders. To the best of my knowledge, it's a trading vacuum! :( Regards, Slave2Market

    Wired or wireless router?

If you don't need a wireless router, then I would definitely not use one. The wireless router requires an extra level of connectivity (the wireless protocol - which adds delay) and is susceptible to interference. You can't beat the speed and reliability of a physically connected interface...

    Neoticker v. Quantdeveloper

Sounds similar to what I do, except I don't operate on quote data series - is that the major limitation that you encountered? I have used Bid/Ask data series in NeoTicker, but haven't developed any systems based on them. Regards, Slave2Market

    Neoticker v. Quantdeveloper

Out of curiousity, what kind of systems are/were you developing and what type of limitations did you encounter? I use NeoTicker for all of my system design, development and physical implementation and honestly have found few limitations. My systems are all intra-day stock portfolio based...

Anyone interested in managing an account

Hey, as I stated earlier ... I'd be damn happy with a 15% annual return with no monthly drawdowns - can anyone do it? I might even allow a 1% monthly drawdown, but this should not occur more than 1 month in a 12 month period. It's hard to believe, but there was actually a time when the 30...

Anyone interested in managing an account

I'd be extremely happy to make 15% per year on my investment capital ... but I don't want any monthly drawdowns! My equity day trading systems make excellent returns with only a rare small weekly drawdown ... but like most good things, they are not scalable.:( Regards, Slave2Market

    Neoticker

All I can say is that you have no idea what you are talking about! I use NeoTicker for all of my trading, and it does things that couldn't even be considered with the other platforms. The main problem I've observed with NeoTicker complainers is that they don't spend any time to try and figure...

    Question: LLC/Corp membership?

traderstatus, here's a question for you. If one is a Class B member of a trading firm LLC, shouldn't one be allowed to know the financials of the LLC? I've always found it kind of amusing, that Class B members are supposedly not allowed to know the profitabiity of the firm of which they are a...

Hook up at Tampa Investors & Traders Expo Oct. 22nd

Are there any full-time traders in the Tampa area who plan to attend? I went to one of the previous events, and about 90% of the attendees appeared to be retired men who dabbled in the market or wanted to learn more about trading. Let me be clear - "there's absolutely nothing wrong with that"...

The Real Cost of being a Proprietary Equity Trader

BWDIK is internet short-hand for the self-deprecating statement "But What Do I Know?" I simply consider a prop firm to be a specialized broker. If a trader can utilize their advantages to increase profits, then it may be a smart business decision to trade via one. I think the big problem...
