    Shorting technique ?? "Help"

Bullets/conversions are used by listed traders due to the inherent difference in the uptick rule for listed vs Nasdaq. If you are trading nasdaq stocks then hitting a bid on an up[tick is much easier due to decimalization (providing you have a gppd platform and good executin skills) even when...

    Echotrade

Hello Don your guys trade listed stocks remember? I think I tried to bid a listed stock once.....yeah that worked well. I would venture to say that DATEK's lame retail customer base accounts for less than 10% of ISLD volume on a daily basis. Another example of Don's ignorance of the Naz...

Are there any SCALPERS on this board ??

Do you mean 1000 actual entries into a new trade!! That is mindblowing if so. What platform do you use? I find it relatively easy to get a SOES order filled in SUNW. Granted when it starts to pront through a price level you might not get it at that instant, but 99% of the time additional...

    Welcome back Def !

Three hours later and no one has commented on the return of Turok?! I must say I am a little hurt as it is apparent that you have been lurking all along and yet no response to my "Where have you gone Turok" thread from several weeks ago. Oh well I will get over it. Welcome back....though I am...

    HRB Today

OK as a OTC trader I will totally expose my limited knowledge of listed market action here but I am confused by what this statement implies and have been for quite some time. Someone correct my understanding please. There is one NYSE specialist for HRB or GM or any other stock traded there...

    Intraday/Swing Plays

Tampa, Even if it is ego gratification that drives him, as long as he is posting trading commentary that others can learn from-by following along and either agreeing or disagreeing-who cares what his motives are? Does he need to provide you with a valid purpose-from your perspective-in order...

    SuperMontage

........presuming you trade with a broker that passes on the rebate. I believe that most still just have a charge per share for ISLD regardless of whether it is adding or taking liquidity. THus they are actually making .0035 or so per share (eg .0025 charge plus .0011 rebate) for shares where...

Even more the point on the irrelevance of Don's post...when DOn posted about your MER trade it was only against you less then 20 cents.... give me a break

    Intraday/Swing Plays

I just wondered why you chose only one of Seanotes few trades that appeared to NOT be going in his favor to comment on. If I had to speculate on your tone and/or intended meaning it sounds like: Don in a hushed whisper "hey yeah OK job on those other trades" then Don screams at the...

    Intraday/Swing Plays

Seanote- for those of us (probably only me) who have been wondering who you are and/or what firm you are with......you have tipped your hand....only a few firms have capabilities like those you posted in earlier threads and besides, no one uses MarketXT simply because they want to....do they...

    ARCA question

Speed, Agreed, that is why I have the ARCA algorithm "turned off" on my platform...I just use it like I would ISLD, taking liquidity when it is there for the taking...and ignoring it when its not. As far as adding liquidity (bidding/offering) I will usually do it through ISLD but do use ARCA...

    ARCA question

That is the issue for sure...... As TNO Mike pointed out, exactly how and when ARCA would see this new ISLD bid is not exactly clear, it has simply been stated that ARCA can do this. The thing that has always seemed hard for me to envision is an order going out to SS and then being cancelled...

Thanks for replies re: Wiztrade Software

And does take quite a committment to learn how to apply it to trading. But to summerize its funtionality.... when these five boxes are green..... BBBUUUUYYYYYY When they are red....... SSSEEELLLLL

    ARCA question

Magna, not really true. As you know, ISLD will still display a lock/cross order in the Level 2 (provided it is not matched instantly) but it will change the DISPLAYED price to the bid price (assuming the spread was at one penny) to satisfy the lock/cross quote rule. I believe that ARCA...

    Shorting QQQ....AMEX vs. NYSE

someone had asked on another thread about software functionality and the inability to short Q's on a downtick (using that software). The question raises an issue I have pondered but never asked anyone else. The uptick rule, though its concept was created by the SEC, is set by each exchange...
