    "Scaling out" is inferior behavior

I guess the point you are missing is that there are no guarantees you will get the full 6 points and it can just as easily turn the other way. Just because one sets a target does not mean that target is DEFINITELY going to be reached. It's a goal, and that's all. Even if the goal is reached...

Earnings surprise....this should be a big one

Hydro I just want to say one thing. I agree with most of your posts but you are just plain wrong on the speculation. This is a small industry and if there was a specualtive buy on RS I would have heard about it long ago. I think you are mixing up the possible speculative buy of X (us steel)...

Earnings surprise....this should be a big one

The conference call is very positive. The stock has moved up as the conference call continues. If you're in the stock stay in it.

Earnings surprise....this should be a big one

If that were the case then what changed? Are you saying their earnings caused this speculation to cease?

Earnings surprise....this should be a big one

Let's see what happens with the conference call at 8am pt. They even did better than that. They had .27 per share in earnings that went to lifo. That is still earnings. All it does is reduce your taxes. The stock is still going to move up over the next few days.

    Is Trading like Gambling?

Uncertainty is not necessarily gambling. If there is zero certainty it is gambling. If I have the ability to run a business for someone else I would have the same ability to run it for myself. Favorably measured risk is not gambling. That would be the same as saying the casino's are...

    Is Trading like Gambling?

Based on your definition of gambling then I would be gambling if I started my own business. I would be gambling if I purchased a piece of rental property. I don't think too many people would consider it gambling. Yes it is taking on risk, but it is not gambling.

    "Scaling out" is inferior behavior

There are many reasons why scaling in and out can make good sense. If I get a 10% up move in one day you better believe I am going to sell some shares. Now I will probably buy them back after the gap partially fills, but I am going to lock in some profits. If I don't like the action of a...

    Reading Price Action

When you trade by gut feeling you are gambling, plain and simple.

    Is Trading like Gambling?

You can develop a strategy that increases your probability of winning and therefore gives you a statistical advantage. There are no guarantees the edge will last forever, but they do exist. Your job is to find them.

lmao, now take a close look at that doll. This is the only girl that will let you fuck her if you trade with borrowed money. (I know you said you're not going to, but that doll should be more motivation)

    Investing In Myself

Good luck to you. My one initial piece of advice to you is not to trade stocks under 5.00. All beginning traders like the idea of having as many shares of a stock that they can. It's very risky to put all of your money in one speculative stock. A 5 cent move down on this stock drops your...

Self-sabotage. Why do we suffer and how to eliminate it.

I guess I can't relate to this. I see no point in getting angry at a stock, myself, or a specialist. If it was my fault I just learn from it and move on.

Self-sabotage. Why do we suffer and how to eliminate it.

No because it actually came up on my system as a buy. I normally never invest in my industry. I am a direct competitor of rs albeit not a large one, but they are one of my largest competitors. When I did further analysis of my company forecast for the third quarter I was more than 30% shy...

A gift. Thank me after you get rich.

It has nothing to do with social order. It has to do with a person beginning a thread that says "I know it all and you will be rich from the information I am posting". Top that off with your handle of "brandnewtrader" and you have a pretty comical thread. Remember one thing. You will lose...
