    Good Trading Book for Beginner

I guess my point was that you make it sound like first part was written out of pure desire to write about myself and carries no value.

Kevin, just out of curiosity... do you honestly think that first part of the book carries no useful lessons for a beginner?

Are Level II really needed today?

It's going to be about 8 years since I heard (read) first exchange on Level II necessity/way of use. One would think this must be solved once and for all at some point... Let me summarize most frequent points of such exchanges. Agenda: SC - Standard Complaint; A - Answer SC#1: I swing...

    Alexander Elder

Let me guess: it's absence of As and THEs that constitutes my "accent"? :D My editors say they can just grab a bag of those and sprinkle my texts with them, and most will be placed just right, so stubbornly I ignore them... It's a somewhat foreign concept for russian-speaking, so we tend to...

    Alexander Elder

As Russian, I feel the urge to chime in... :) While this is very correct observation overall, in this particular case I believe other factor played major role. Dr Elder lived in USA long enough to stop percieving surrounding world as permanent threat. However, the reference to not having his...

    Market Maker Tricks

    1. Who would they signal? Another MM? What for? 2. How would that another MM be able to tell who did that print, his co-conspirator or someone else? 3. Tracking such signals, how would you be able to tell print by suspect MM from print by anyone else? After all, there are way too many 100, 200...

    Market Maker Tricks

You missed the essence of the story... NITE knew each trader's account because our fills went through them with ID numbers. If I enetred by other means (ISLD for instance), there was no shadowing. I don't imply that this is what happens with usual program trading you can see today.

    Market Maker Tricks

Here is promised story. Disclaimer: by no means it confirms the notion of MMs tracking down counterpart's account, in this case MM traded directly with customer (me). 1999, I traded through Castle Online, now defunct. They offered direct access software, quite nice for that time. At some...

I will have to side up wit Eric on this. My experience: I posted my audited results for two periods, over two and half years and for one more full year. My reasoning for doing this was, first period was what I described in Techniques of Tape Reading; second was the year the book was published...

    Market Maker Tricks

Sorry, I trade NASDAQ exclusively, no idea about COI... listeds with their single-person control over trades (diluted to certain degree of course by introduction of ECNs etc) is somewhat different game. My post referred to NASDAQ market makers. The very structure of NASDAQ (everyone against...
