    IB Suggestions & Improvements

Speaking of quotes, IB could save on a chunk of bandwidth (IMHO) if they had a "snapshot" quote feature. After the open I rarely need streaming quotes for my autotrade API. I just need to grab quotes every few minutes, but I may need up to a thousand or so symbols. No way to do that cleanly...

What happened to that autosurf discussion?

Spammin' Sammy? Say it ain't so???!!!! Sam, ES, et al, any way we can start up a similar thread - minus the spam? It was very interesting learning about that stuff and 'Savant's trials/tribulations. Sure, it's all a ponzi scam, but it was one of the more interesting ET threads... :(

What does it take to build an automated trading system?

It is damn near trivial to build an automated trading system that will connect to IB's API, safely make trades, and is profitable. Or at least, it is after you've done one and have lots of experience in the market...

    Buy at bid

It certainly seems like an outmoded ridiculous restriction nowadays. Especially with "smart"-type routing to different exchanges available. Anybody have any experiences/comments about electronic option order restrictions, like the CBOE's? It's easy enough to get around, but it would be nice...

    Buy at bid

What this will mean for you, I don't know. IB pops up windows and limits trade speed (pacing violations) when you try to API op orders. It's a pain... CBOE Regulatory Circular 00-139: SEC Approval of Prohibition Against Electronically Generated Orders Date: September 15, 2000...

    Jesse Livermore

Unstable? Maybe. But to start as a bucket shop runner then make millions trading back in a time when $10K was a fortune, means that JL was an incredibly intuitive and ballsy trader. He just didn't know when to stop. Much like modern types like Zander and possibly Niederhoffer. There is...

    Jesse Livermore

What is amazing is how much of the book IS applicable to today's markets and trading, seeing that the events in it are from about 80-90 years ago. Good trading to all. C
