    I trade 1k lot of SPY and DIA, if smart route to NYSE or AMEX, slippage can be from 5 cents to 10 cents. Sometime you get price improvement as well. Are you trying to scalp or looking for longer time frame (1-5 minutes)

    Yeap. Back in the old days, I SNETed market makers with price 30 cents higher than the current ask. He sold me, minutes later, got a call, and trade is busted.

    def, A few of my trade are send by market using best. It never get any price improvement. Close analysis on the tape make me assume TMBR is front running my order. I sold mkt and saw the price execute thru TMBR on the bid price, seconds later another trade went off on the offer price.
