    EURUSD Master--- Live Trading CALL

I'm more interested in the 1.2150 level... last support I can see on the weekly before 1.20-evens... 1.20's will be so full of limit orders that it won't be a clean move no matter what gets tossed at it.

Norton is Expiring, Should I Renew

I 2nd this. ESET user here, very happy with them. Smallest footprint and best protection (both in detection of known viruses and zero-day threats.)

    FB shorting strats

A wiser trader than myself pointed out that once everyone who wants to short finally gets shares available to borrow, the short play probably won't move as smoothly. The first few days, shorts were crushin it and the moves were clean. I expect things to start to get dirty as more people gain...

Underwriters band together, keep FB above 38. Market manipulation?

What the crap? The "whole point" wasn't a giant exit strategy for the founders... Sure, in this case FB pretty much used it as such.. but the stock market is more widely used (if there ever was a 'point') to raise capital by selling ownership for business growth purposes.

    Which broker?

Good call.. Alpari leaves a lot to be desired.. Can't say I can recommend TradeStation. They have a good platform but their total cost for trading FX isn't the best, and I heard they have issues with slippage and execution. Though, to be fair I haven't traded with them live. For me, knowing...

    Spread vs Range

I factor the spread into my 'risk' side of the R:R ratio. Using your numbers (1:1 RR and 10 pip target, and 1 pip total cost): If I was aiming for 10 pips, then my stop would be set to 9 pips so my total risk was 10.

    Which broker?

Like I mentioned in my earlier post... Oanda's MT4 bridge leaves a lot to be desired. I'll put it this way, they didn't start with an MT4 environment, they cobbled on an MT4 bridge server to their systems once enough customers asked for it. fxTrade rocks for execution and manual order...

    so is the general consensus

"better" is subjective, and depends on what you trade, your style, and requirements. I don't know many scalpers who can deal with the non-liquid contracts of more exotic pairs... Some currency cross traders wouldn't be very happy with futures either in general. . . People who like to...

    Final Oanda trade today.

This. As well, the widening spreads during news releases has always been a known trading condition for Oanda. So I simply don't trade news with them. I use another broker for that (one with 'price improvements' and tight but very volatile spreads during news.) For day trading periods...

    Which broker?

There are many great options for non-US traders, but sadly thanks to the way the US is regulated, your options get quite limited. It's not an entirely bad thing, just limiting. So... for US, I usually point out Oanda (which you've already considered) and leave it at that, but lately...

    BigDogsForex.com

Appears they let their domain name registration expire. The domain is up for grabs. So they probably have gone out of business... but if not, you could always register the domain and sell it back to the owners for a profit (if they take it back.)

    IB FX Trader?

Yeah, IB's interest markup for forex spot/swap positions is really bad... it's the one thing about them that bewilders me, since they try hard to be the "professionals" broker within the retail space with low costs for most other transactions yet completely bend clients over with cost of carry...

    Which broker?

Oanda is great, but I'd highly suggest you stick with their fxTrade platform over MT4. Their MT4 bridge setup is far from perfect, and most complaints I hear about the broker stem from trying to use MT4 instead of fxTrade. You can always keep MT4 open for charting, writing custom...

    broker bankrupt: currency futures safe???

Err.. just to back up a tad. You're right about spot in the sense that there's no 'industry wide' regulation on how funds are kept (like in futures and such,) but that doesn't mean you're unprotected in all cases. You have to go on a broker by broker basis when assessing this, and atop of...

Someone steals my fill for one hundredth of a cent (as per TRF)

They do allow it. NASDAQ has midpoint orders. Just because you're part of the NBBO, doesn't mean the person wanting to sell is going to hit your market center. They might hit up a darkpool or free-to-punch ECN... No one stole OP's fill. The fill went to the intended market center...

    TD Ameritrade FOREX

This is correct. Though, even with brokers who do take the other side of your trade, it doesn't mean they are trading 'against you' in the "you lose: they win" sense. Quite often, market makers just hedge their exposure in the market the moment you open a position with them. It's just an...

    No dealing desk brokers

Yeah, futures isn't the answer here... Wallace seems to be pro-AMP futures, I tried to help him see the benefits of spot over micro futures in another thread and he rejected the notion without much serious reason besides just "agreeing to disagree"... I'm not going to push it anymore...

    broker bankrupt: currency futures safe???

Dukascopy has been working with clients in such a way for a while now. You use a local Swiss bank branch (includes names like Merrill Lynch, Barclays, and Liechtensteinische Landesbank) and interlink it with Dukas with a bank guarantee. Your daily P/L is netted with the bank, and Dukas bases...

FEAR! How to get rid of it

Scared money is only fixed through confidence. Confidence comes from properly testing your system, and trading with money you can afford to lose. If you don't have the discipline to do that kinda testing work before you put your capital at risk, I doubt you'll have the discipline to gain...
