(Don't take this the wrong way, as what I'm about to say isn't to lecturing you or anything, nor is it to defend or attack people in this thread as I don't really keep up on drama around ET, it's just a thought.) marketsurfer, being in a journalist-like profession (many links dropped to his...

marketsurfer; a proposal: Since you said the magic trader-death inducing words of "100% convinced", why don't we go ahead and make the stakes a little higher? If you're right, and that means this move up was just testing the top and the high in YM is never broken until a significant drop...

why is 'RunAs' appearing - XP PRO and MT4 ?

Because with build 500+, MetaQuotes wants to push updates to you automatically without your intervention every time you start the terminal. IE, no more update manager to run separately... I can't decide if this is a good thing or not. Half the stuff MQ's been adding I like, the other half...

Are spot forex trades CFD 's ?

Different parts of the world classify them in their own way. Here in Canada (Ontario) spot falls under the 'securities' label. In Australia, they are CFDs. In the US, recent changes make them out to be swaps. Spot forex is a bit special in this respect. I suppose regulators find...

Direct Market Access on Forex & CFDs ??

In theory, by CTrader's site, the broker would be running the agency model (just representing you as you trade with the LP's and banks.) That being said, they can still choose to take on the risk of the account.. but they can't mess with the price feed outside of the parameters they've set...

Direct Market Access on Forex & CFDs ??

CTrader is just a platform. The broker usually has to establish or bring along relationships with banks and LPs. From that point, the fee structure varies from broker to broker, since each has their own cost structure respective to their lines of business. And of course CTrader wants a cut...

    Do you believe in forex?

The conspiracy theorist in me would think regulators are protecting currency futures by making spot forex in the US market less competitive. (Not because they like the CME or ICE, but because futures are far more within their domain of control given the regulatory differences and method of...

    Do you believe in forex?

What do you think the answer is going to be? CFDs often just add leverage, increase the financing charges for holding over rollover, and increase the total spread / cost per trade over the securities or futures they track (since the broker needs to pad the spread a bit over what they hedge...

    Do you believe in forex?

No. I don't want anyone to start with any given arbitrary number. That's something they need to work out for themselves based on what amount is appropriate for their personal finances in the context of risk capital. My post had nothing to do with the starting amount as a fixed number...

Hi everybody- I have a question- who is your broker? I need help :)

Yes, but Oanda let's you trade on size of just 1 unit of currency, so it's still risk appropriate for such a deposit. Most others the minimum size is a microlot ($1,000)..

    The Wallace Trading Method

Sure. Fair warning though, I tend to dislike 'pip' / 'point' daily targets. I've written out against fixed pip or $ daily goals a bit my own corner of the web as I see a lot of benefits to non-monetary goals. ...Such as "each trade operated within the risk parameters set out before...

    The Wallace Trading Method

Wait.. what? A month ago you'd clear a grand or two in a week's time. Now you cleared nearly $3 million in profit in a week? I don't normally do the whole "BS show us proof" but unless I misunderstand what your post reports, could you provide few statements from AMP to back this up...

which t/f do you reccommend for forex

A 0.71*hour candlestick time frame, and not a second less but up to 2 seconds more per candle depending on that day's ATR. -- Seriously though, context is everything, and the time frame only matters based on what the trader is trying to achieve or the strategy they are employing.

Three third-party libraries for mql4 in comparison, inquiry

It's a callable programming library (DLL.) It directly connects MT4 to other MT4 EA's, or directly to your custom code. No other layer is needed besides your own code/program. There is no memory leak issue if you use the QC_FreeString() feature within C#/.Net You'd find this out, and a lot...
