    Martin "Buzzy" Schwartz

Here are some quotes I really liked from the Pit Bull that has been on my journal for eons. "Don’t listen to yourself, instead, listen to the market." "Being able to honor your stops is what separates you from the mongrels on Wall street". "For two hundred days a year, I’d end up with...

Does GTC orders include Outside Regular Trading Hours execution?

In TWS go to global config/presets/select stock, options, or futures and make sure you have the box checked "allow order to be activated, triggered, filled outside of regular trading hours'' - hit apply. I think this is it, have not messed with these setting for years.

Why are Wall Street stock analysts clueless?

You have to assume the majority of analyst are dead wrong at the big turns. Back when Enron was a Wall street darling 10 of 15 analysts were still rating it as a "buy" or "strong buy" two weeks after the SEC announced it had opened an inquiry into the energy-trading company's accounting, Enron...

TA question often asked... "Do trendlines work"?

A $25,000% return on account scalping the ES in 4 days is pure fantasy. I think the world record is Larry Williams +10,000% year from a few decades ago which nobody has ever claimed to surpassed & could prove it. How on earth can you have 720 losing ES trades with an avg loss of -$8.63? That...

TA question often asked... "Do trendlines work"?

Back-testing optimized to the max is the crack in trading. A return like this can pay off the national debt & corner the words money supply in no time. Anyone that can do just 1% of this for 2 years is the alpha of market wizards. Starting with $25K @ 2,474% per month compounded: Year 1...

Charlie Munger, Who Helped Buffett Build Berkshire, Dies at 99

Here are a few quotes from Charlie Munger that has been in my trading journal. It is remarkable how much long-term advantage people like us have gotten by trying to be consistently not stupid, instead of trying to be very intelligent. The wise ones bet heavily when the world offers them that...

How do famous swing traders like Dan Zanger size up so fast?

The winning formula for Qullamagie & Zanger are trading mainly or entirely from the long side of the strongest stocks in the strongest bull markets in history. Right place, right time, right idea. A stock position of 25% that makes a 400% gain doubles the acct size. These guys got plenty of...

Rate cut predicted as early as 1st quarter 2024? Really???

When the Fed starts cutting rates the mkt is likely to tank significantly. Rate cuts signals the economy is toast or the Fed broke something.

IB chart different to Tradeview chart for AFRM

Change the market hours in TV on TWS by clicking on the clock on the top of the chart, yours is set for 24 hours which is why your charts don't match. I like the way your TV chart displays the ATR & ADR% on the top right side of your chart. Do you have the Pinescript code for this? I would...

Your odds of being consistent profitable in trading

The largest study on traders I saw was a broker that analyzed 43 million trades. Only 7% made a profit. Here is why most lose. Traders were very good at identifying profitable trading opportunities--closing trades out at a profit over 50 percent of the time. They ultimately lost, however, as...

What would you do if you were me?

Take a vacation to Chernihiv (Ukraine) than Gaza strip, & Yemen. When or if you get back home all your troubles will feel like a summer breeze. You get the point- focus on being grateful for what you have - this is rocket fuel. Getting out of your place to do something fun/adventurous will help.

Prudent Risk Management Is The Only True Edge In TRADING

I am referring to a few years ago that were on a constant rant about how stupid they thought stop losses are. One of them was sitting into a plunging position for the better part of the year - the other had to much leverage & blew up their acct. I am always plastering my trading journal with...

Prudent Risk Management Is The Only True Edge In TRADING

Funny how those that shout the loudest about how stupid they think it is to use a stop loss are often those that are down -50% on a trade.

OMG I can't believe this fallacy still exists in trading!

WXY - you're not factoring in that after a 50% drop the trader can buy twice the number of shares with the same cost basis.
