I got robbed on option expiration Friday!! (option ex pinning)

After you get burned on something like that, you tend to back off for a while. Not interested right now, just stated we'll see come Monday how pinned it was if at all.

I got robbed on option expiration Friday!! (option ex pinning)

It's possible I'm over-reacting, but I find it suspicious that it could trade all day long in that range from open to close on earnings day and on a day they missed earnings. I think this will be verified come Monday with a sharp correction in the stock after it's "unpinned". I think some...

Turns out that the market IS out to get you

The market was out to get me on Friday with some heavy option ex manipulation... http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=179532

Turns out that the market IS out to get you

I've considered giving up on trading many times before and have! Then I end up coming back. I think eventually you realize that you simply know too much about how easy it is to make money trading that you won't be able to give it up. Maybe you'll take a break, but you'll be back. You...

I got robbed on option expiration Friday!! (option ex pinning)

Son of a bitch! I bought some BAC puts betting on them missing earnings. They missed earnings and it started to tank. Immediately I started to get excited that I was right! The stock dropped and based on past trends, I figured it would drop at least $2 on the miss. Well it didn't, it...

U.S. banks may take big hit from U.K. liquidity rules

Basically they have raised the requirements for banks in the UK. Will other countries follow along? We'll see. ============ Oct. 14, 2009, 7:00 p.m. EDT LONDON (MarketWatch) -- Controversial new U.K. rules that require banks to hold more cash and government bonds could end up costing...

BREAKING NEWS: Dollar loses reserve status to yen & euro

Just to play contrarian, is it possible that Bernake could be right? That devaluing the dollar is going to help all US companies get more of a competitive edge with global sales in a time when many businesses are now selling things online. Possibly even help businesses with a high amount of...

Making 1/2 as Much: Pay cuts more frequent than at any time since Great Depression.

I think this is almost like the 4th window in unemployment that goes unchecked. 1. unemployed 2. those who gave up searching 3. those who retired early/social security 4. those who took a massive pay cut just to keep their job Really does seem like there is a squeeze going on.

Asia countries break futures trading rules

It's been pointed out before that if some of that stuff was actually called, like even silver, there isn't enough mined up to deliver and some know that and probably are trying to corner the market to elevate prices and horde gold. It also is believed to cost too much to hold it even if you did...

BREAKING NEWS: Dollar loses reserve status to yen & euro

Printed up in the NY Post, not in the inquirer, likely in print on major news stands. Pretty scarey stuff.

    Ge Earnings Poll

I would think JNJ would give some insight into what may happen with GE? Although GE is highly diversified across a wider segment, it could definitely be a good indicator of where the economy is. I think MMM has also been a fair indicator too of the economy and is usually ignored.

•CIT Group CEO Peek to Resign as Lender Teeters on Bankruptcy: Goldman Salivates

I thought Goldman put in more money into CIT than they are getting back? From what I read everyone is focusing on what they'll get but not on what they put in overall.

    Wells Fargo is a SHORT

Also I think a lot of these banks will try to stay in line with their peers. It's like when one firm decides to start taking massive write downs, the others in that sector tend to join in since the overall sentiment is negative and the market begins wondering anyways who else has that problem...

    Wells Fargo is a SHORT

This news came out and was widely ignored. Sounds almost like a warning.... http://www.reuters.com/article/marketsNews/idCNN1318675620091013?rpc=44 I think right now that the mania is so high right now, nobody is reading or paying attention to the news or numbers. Just going off of the...

BREAKING NEWS: Dollar loses reserve status to yen & euro

Why is this not being talked about on the news? THIS IS HUGE! Sorry if a repost on here. ------------------------ By PAUL THARP Last Updated: 3:16 AM, October 13, 2009 Posted: 1:44 AM, October 13, 2009 Ben Bernanke's dollar crisis went into a wider mode yesterday as the greenback...

I'm calling it - The Top Is In

In my opinion Alcoa was the red flag that went up. Once they came in and beat by using cost cutting when their real numbers were down, I knew we were in for a bumpy ride. Now you got JNJ trying to pull the same trick and they got fried in the pre-market.

I'm calling it - The Top Is In

JNJ tanking in the pre-market. Sales were down. The only reason they beat was with cost cutting/layoffs. They also cut research and development so sacrificed future growth to beat the street. Not getting much love in the pre-market. The street wants to see sales growth to know if we are...
