    Trading One Million Option Contracts?

Such a funny man, aren't you. You're nothing but a pathetic troll, who's very images you post just now are based on yourself. Now if you don't mind, I would appreciate replies only from more intelligent contributors than you. Goodbye.

    Trading One Million Option Contracts?

I wouldn't consider Desterio a genuine poster at all I'm afraid. He never has any valuable contribution to my questions. Case closed. Thank you for the only sensible and relevant reply to my question so far.

    Trading One Million Option Contracts?

Regarding the index options in particular, for which there are no position limits. I am wondering how feasible it would be to buy or sell 1 million contracts of say NDX or SPX. Especially for a retail trader. The main reason I ask this, is because I have a scalping strategy in mind, which I have...

How difficult would it be to fill 500k SPX option contracts?

Yes I have looked at position limits for both equity options and index options. On index options such as SPX, NDX and RUT there are no position limits in effect.

How difficult would it be to fill 500k SPX option contracts?

Yes fair point. I also accept the minimum price fluctuations would be $2,500,000. So extraordinarily risky, not to mention capital intensive.

How difficult would it be to fill 500k SPX option contracts?

As you all may be aware, there are no position limits in effect for most European style index options. Probably the most liquid of these is the SPX. Bearing this in mind, if one was to choose an arbitrary number of contracts to trade, such as 500k, what role would liquidity play with suge a huge...

What is the maximum number of options contracts per order ticket on Tastyrade?

The only person embarrassing themselves is you, with your compulsion to post stupid, sanctimonious comments and replies. Do yourself a favour and go back to sleep. This thread is for people who want to help, not those who want to act the clown. Bye bye.

What is the maximum number of options contracts per order ticket on Tastyrade?

Because it is simply convenient to be able to open the desired quantity in one order ticket. Especially if the strategy requires more than a certain number of contracts. So far, TD is the only broker I have encountered that does not have such restrictive order limits.

What is the maximum number of options contracts per order ticket on Tastyrade?

I am looking into opening an account with Tastyrade to trade options, after experiencing disappointment with IB's paper money platform. I believe Tastyworks has a limit of 250 contracts per ticket as per their website, but they say this can be exceeded by contacting their support. So in that...

    Interactive Brokers Order Rejection Message?

I have not found a resolution as of yet.

Why does Interactive Brokers impose such restrictive limits for options trading?

Not at all. Your input is valuable and insightful. I guess it's a case that not many retail traders are trading such sizes, and many more would not in any event.

Why does Interactive Brokers impose such restrictive limits for options trading?

A screen grab from the CBOE website, product specifications for SPX options.

Why does Interactive Brokers impose such restrictive limits for options trading?

Sorry. I meant cash-settled index options, European style.

Why does Interactive Brokers impose such restrictive limits for options trading?

Are you able to read basic material? I am well aware there are position limits, and my hypothetical order in the screenshot conforms to said limits, since there are NO position limits on European index options. So why don't you take your b******* and stick it somewhere I don't have to entertain...

Why does Interactive Brokers impose such restrictive limits for options trading?

Because I like the interface of the platform, and it still gives me a good insight into options trading. I also find the IB paper account almost unusable. TD has a much better functionality, as well as a generally better platform. It is simply to practice trading, one does not need a reason...

Why does Interactive Brokers impose such restrictive limits for options trading?

I am unable to open a TD Ameritrade live account in my country. Otherwise I would have done it already.

Why does Interactive Brokers impose such restrictive limits for options trading?

There are position limits for options, yes. However they are usually 200 or 250k, depending upon the underlying. And European index options have no position limits in place. That includes NDX, SPX, RUT etc. So it is just IB that has these independent order restrictions in place then.

Why does Interactive Brokers impose such restrictive limits for options trading?

Also, IB's paper account only partially fills orders, and mostly only fills upon market open and close. Which is also a sign something is amiss I would think.
