    Today's BONDS!

Waggie --- have you looked at what time of the cycle jobs tend to get added? Any sense that massive hiring is more a sign of an economic peak (i.e., job creation is a lagging indicator)? Just curious, thanks...

    Today's BONDS!

Waggie -- I read that article and it was very interesting. I guess we could have deflation -- the one thing I struggle to reconcile is the creation of all this money by the Fed. It has to find its way somewhere. If it goes into commodities or real estate prices that would signal inflation. I...

    The Dollar Has Bottomed

JML -- I didn't read the shareholder letter -- did he say that in the letter? I know he said so previously, but haven't seen his latest comments. Thanks...

    Today's BONDS!

Well I for one have been fighting the tape and paying for it. Now I'm flat. :( Let's talk about stagflation for a second. What about a scenario where that occurs? My guess is that Fed induced liquidity on the short end of the curve would drive commodity prices higher -- in turn raising the...

    Great Example of Tradestation Incompetence

Sorry to hear that. Maybe you should go back to full CME -- have the system re-entitle you and then settle the issue after market close later today. Good luck...that sucks.

    Can you short a bond?

If you want to play rising rates there are two good ways: 1. Open a futures account and short bond futures 2. Buy the mutual fund RRPIX (rising rates opportunity fund) -- that is probably the easiest way. It is basically 1.25 X the ten year yield index (Symbol: TNX)

    Int. Rates

ertrader...glad you brought up stagflation. Was wondering if anyone else thought this was a possibility. Higher prices caused by low rates/weak dollar/rising commodities while the economy stays in the crapper.... Anyone else?

    who can authenticate my records?

I know a guy who was an options trader in Philadelphia. He said he and his group were all using their credit cards to lever up their strategy. Eventually they sold a portion to BNP Paribas and went from managing $100 M to $5 Billion over night. Recently all the partners cashed out for ~$30...

    IBD/CANSLIM and options

Except when everyone fades the CANSLIM breakout and the stock gets crushed and volatility spikes! In all seriousness, I think if you're making a directional bet, you might as well just play the underlying....

Anyone ever heard of Steven Cohen????

I don't think SAC lists in the hedge fund databases -- no point really when they're all trading Stevie's and friend's cash and are turning away people who want in....

    ETF List

Avalanche -- I agree, but this was they way etfconnect spit it out and I was just being quick and dirty. Good recommendation though.

    ETF List

I just finished making a spreadsheet of all the ETF's on www.etfconnect.com. Thought others might find it useful too. They are currently ranked by asset size.

Anyone ever heard of Steven Cohen????

My favorite part is their "disinformation" desk that is rumored to make counter trades to throw the market off....

Market makers : The myth ??

Can't this be done through neither and then reported back to the tape? (I have no idea) I have a friend who deals with block trades at UBS. I think they find large buyers through their institutional sales brokers, then report the trade to the tape later (30 seconds or a few minutes later --...

    Turtle Traders suck?

I could be wrong, but my (limited) testing experience shows that short-term counter-trend systems work better on equity indexes than trend following systems... My guess is that the turtle system would have done amazing in commodities during the inflationary 70's as well as would perform well...
