    SureTrader - Providing sensitive information

IMO ....... It's total BS the info you have to provided to open a trading account. A trading account should be no different than a savings/checking account. I'm in Canada and I recently opened up a 2nd trading account and savings/checking account with TD Canada Trust. The savings/checking...

    Index vs Equity

ironchef ............ You might like PCLN options. Volume is relatively low on the options and stock, and it doesn't take much to move PCLN. :)

    Index vs Equity

When in doubt trade options on the QQQ (also look at DIA and SPY) - especially the weeklies. Concentrate on about 10 stocks only - include FANG (FB, AAPL, AMZN NFLX, GOOGL). Index Options or Equity Options are equal - neither is "better". :)

calculating maximum profit potential of a long term option trade

Based on your views of the underlying buying the 150.00 calls expiring on Jan19, 2018 would most likely provide the most bang-for-your-buck and leave some room for error on your $200.00 target. Example: AAPL at $97.72. AAPL Jan19, 2018 calls at $1.36 (bid). If the target of $200.00 is...

    Schadenfreude Warning: "Karen the Supertrader"

From what I gather she would sell options towards the end of the month and tack the premium onto the realized p/l column. The true value was in the unrealized p/l column. The fund charged a monthly fee if they made a profit - based on realized gains. Think of it as "trade adjustment"...

    Question on Option quotes!

Option prices do not move in tandem with the underlying mostly due to time decay and changes in volatility. :)

    Schadenfreude Warning: "Karen the Supertrader"

Interesting how they padded the realized profit column with the option premiums collected - and of course the unrealized loss column would keep getting bigger. On ET that is known as trade adjustment. For the fund to collect its monthly fees it had to show a profit - and they used the realized...

    MarketSurfer's new alias

The suspicion that some ET members might be using multiple user-names consecutively is why I started this thread requesting a board feature which would allow us to view user-names using the same IP. Click on username and get a list of uernames using the same IP? :)

Ways to use option to hedge investment

No ...... I have no views on USD/CAD If I needed USD now I would buy USD at todays exchange rate. In 2 or 3 years buy back CAD at the going exchange rate. #2 and #3 is based on your OP. :)

    Straddle on Earning day
