What happens when a company gets bought and you are caught short?

Good advice .......... And that would also apply to all the "option selling for income" crowd. :)

Selling delta 3-5 ES Puts with 40-57 days left

Exiting at the short strike sounds good in theory ..... but in reality it's too impractical. Once again could you give more details on your SPY credit spreads? How far OTM? The spread between the strikes? How long before expiry? Credit received? :)

Selling delta 3-5 ES Puts with 40-57 days left

Nothing good about picking up SPY pennies in front of the steam roller. Can you give more info on your SPY spreads? How far OTM? The spread between the strikes? How long before expiry? Credit received? :)

Is It Smart to Trade in US Stocks if You Are Based in the Philippines?

IMO ........ The hours are too impractical to trade US Market in the Philippines. 9:30PM to 4:00AM local time. :)

What is going on with volatility

Low volume on the markets today. When buyers step in DOW, DIA and the QQQ's are going to go nuts to the upside. Sooner than later. Lots of Fear recently and that means Rising Markets. :)

Is It Smart to Trade in US Stocks if You Are Based in the Philippines?

You only pay the buy/sell USD/CAD exchange rate - round trip it is negligible. US trading hours are very good if you trade from Canada - especially the PST timezone. On a side note - the Philippines are in a terrible timezone for trading the US market. :)

What is going on with volatility

My educated guess is that the market is nervous due to being at an all time high. When the market is nervous volatility goes up. Fear is also rising. :)

Uber drivers can now lease cars through uber... But prices look insane!!

I can't tell from the wording of your post if you think $650.00 is too high or low. IMO .......... $650.00 is a good price. :)

Bid > Ask, and still not filled... Why?

You should know from your previous thread that Yahoo and Google option quotes may not be accurate, especially for low volume options - check your brokers quotes for final analysis. Quotes from BMO Investorline :)

    Straddle on Earning day

Depends on his view of the underlying. Sell straddles if you think the underlying will under-preform the premium collected. Buy straddles if you think the underlying will over-preform the debit paid. :)

    Straddle on Earning day

What he hoped for would determine the type of option trade. No view in the underlying, no trade - it's as simple as that. :)

    Straddle on Earning day

"IV crush" is a moot point for traders that buy straddles/strangles before earnings, 100% of buyers are anticipating a big enough move on the underlying to offset the debit paid for the options. - the OP even indicated that he was "hoping to ride the earning price movement". :)

    SureTrader - Providing sensitive information

You took my response out of context - it was in reply to Max Dup's inquiry about TD Canada Trust. I'm with BMO Investorline and TD Canada Trust - the PDT rule doesn't apply with either broker in Canada. Perhaps the PDT rule applies with other brokers in Canada. :)

    SureTrader - Providing sensitive information

SureTrader might have more products and lower trading fees than TD Canada Trust. :)
