Are you a Dollar bull or bear for the next few months?

Confirmation of the breakdown in the USD today in a big way. Small support on the DXY at 76 and then back to the lows. Note the similarity in gold prices with the 2005-2007 period. Back then, gold prices consolidated for about a year and a half before lifting to new highs. This lift began in...

Are you a Dollar bull or bear for the next few months?

Interesting comments. My personal feeling is that the consolidation over the last two months was very weak. Prices on the DXY seemed to have a hard time rallying more than a couple of points off of MAJOR support. This suggests to me that there are not willing buyers for the US currency at these...

Are you a Dollar bull or bear for the next few months?

Could be an exciting week coming up. An imminent breakdown on the US dollar should put gold closer to resolving to the upside. Stay tuned! Fireworks are coming over the next six months.

Are you a Dollar bull or bear for the next few months?

Looks like this USD trade has played out perfectly. The consolidation appears to be over and the next down leg is to begin almost immediately. Measured move on the double top for the USD is about ten points taking us down to the lows and maybe beyond. DXY below 78.40 has signalled this breakdown...

Are you a Dollar bull or bear for the next few months?

looks like that major MACD divergence on the initial chart has played out perfectly. Sharp declines on the USD. Wouldn't be surprised to see a little consolidation at these levels but lower lows and lower highs are most definitely an expectation going forward.

    Green shoots

Anyone else feel like this term was made up by some guys just to prop up the markets? Anyone else going to snap if they hear it one more time? Who decided this was an acceptable term to hear every 17 seconds? All this market has done is rally up to the declining 200-day moving average on weak...

Are you a Dollar bull or bear for the next few months?

Major divergence on the MACD with the latest high on the US dollar basket. Looks like its intermediate term trend is lower. 80 before 90

New Theory: This is all a direct result of the Fed's role in LTCM

I agree. Greenspan was congratulated for avoiding recession for 15 consecutive years by printing money and lowering interest rates at the first sign of trouble. Had he let recessions (a normal part of the business cycle) happen then we wouldn't be where we are now. He has created a generation...

    crude oil to $21 . . . how about $13 ?

Peak oil occurred in the United States in the 1970s. Current production of oil in the U.S. is dramatically lower than it was thirty years ago. This is why America is so dependent on foreign sources of oil (where production has increased in the last thirty years) Peak oil for the global...

    crude oil to $21 . . . how about $13 ?

For all the peak oil bashers. Please refer to the definition of peak oil: Peak oil is the point in time when the maximum rate of global petroleum extraction is reached, after which the rate of production enters terminal decline (wikipedia) Since 2005, global production has flattened out...
