    IQFeed vs Polygon.io

It would be good to see more competition in this area, IQFeed is good...not great. Sort of like the IB of data feeds.

    NxCore is no longer offered

It would be good if they did put more work into the stability of IQFeed, it would suck if IQFeed folded as well, there's nothing similar out there (that I'm aware of).

    is fundamental analysis bullshit?

I think there is more than one way to look at news. Nothing is straight forward, otherwise we'd all be rich.

    is fundamental analysis bullshit?

You think looking at a chart isn't 'crowded'?

    Thank you Sir.

    IB Order Imbalance.

I notice IB offers various NYSE order imbalance data feeds, yet googling and searching their site turns up zero information regarding how his information is actually delivered. Is anybody using this feed? If so, how? Is it available though the API?

    Cheapest ECN Feed.

I don't have a direct link, but I do have a bunch of documentation for the LightSpeed Gateway product, which has the Order ID in the 'ECN Addition' message, so I assume one can see position in the queue. The specific document is called 'LSG Book Engine.pdf'.

    Cheapest ECN Feed.

Can't you see it in LightSpeed's 'Gateway Book Engine'?

    Cheapest ECN Feed.

Is there even such a thing as a cheap ECN feed? I don't mean an L2 market maker feed, but one where you can actually see your position in the queue. Edit: To clarify, I'm talking equities here.

    Jonathan Kinlay?

The question was meant to be leading, I'm sure he isn't killing it either. Another candidate for this is Bert Mouler, he's all over social media like a rash now, I'm guessing the hedge fund isn't doing too well.

    Jonathan Kinlay?

I've read that blog too, a couple of things struck to me... 1) Some of his systems trade a lot for the resolution of his data, his fill assumptions can't be realistic. 2) If you were killing it as much as his systems are supposed to be, why blog about it?

Where and how are the top traders doing (EricP,RM,MBA,lescor,Dustin,Szeven,Shreddog, etc?

That seems a shame, he was pretty much an inspiration for what was possible.

    Backtesting and Curve fitting

It really depends on what your 'indicators' are, if you're just optimizing a bunch moving averages and oscillators then no optimization scheme is going to produce agreeable results. If you have something more solid then I would optimize over all my data then paper-trade going forward, you'll...

IQ Feed unreliable, any suggestion to replace it?

I had some slight lag for a couple of seconds, what do you actually mean by 'not working'?

    Haskell

Just a joke, F# has all the things you listed, but Haskell/OCaml zealots usually deride it for not being 'pure' enough.

    Just like F#? *ducks*

    Are Trading Books Useless ?

There are some good books, "Trading and Exchanges" springs to mind, so do the Sinclair option books. But none of them contain profitable ideas, by definition.
