    American Style futures options Greeks

Sound advice bro. The entire purpose of options is to predict the behavior of the underlying.

    low profile 6-monitor video card?

I currently run two FirePro 2460 cards, each is capable of supporting 4 monitors, so eight total. They use mini-display port connections, I don't do any gaming or graphic intensive work, so they are fine and well priced.

    Livevol X

Did Livevol give you a specific time-frame for futures? Have you heard of any other upgrades, or new features coming out? I have been using LVX since last March.

    specs of laptop for trading

I have always bought thinkpads, T-series in particular. I currently have a T430s for my mobile setup. It has the Optimus card so I can plug into the base-station and run multiple monitors. It can run quite warm sometimes though.

    Need help choosing a broker

10 contracts per day/month/year? With your volume, I would not be overly concerned with commissions (that's a good thing). Interactive Brokers offers many products, but there could be better firms out there for Canadian listings.

    need some direction

So you completely disregarded my advice in the post above? Why do you think selling otm index options is such a great trade? Also, I'd be wary of taking advice from someone who describes them self as "lazy." Option trading is hard, it takes work and discipline. Stop looking for a shortcut.

    dual delta and Dual gamma

Are you asking what those numbers tell you? Or if they are worthwhile metrics? I am not sure how you go about educating a partial derivative equation.

Why is portfolio margin only available to those with >=$100,000

The trades I make are treated equally under Reg T and PM. There will not be a time when I decide to add risk if something comes up, if it does not fit my strategy I do not trade it. Also, you can have an account over $100k and use Reg T. I wouldn't want to request margin from a firm if I...

Why is portfolio margin only available to those with >=$100,000

That test means nothing, they ask the same questions as they have for years (if they even bother with it). Just like how they ask for your net-worth and annual income; you are supposed to be truthful, but they don't run a credit check. Bottom line is that brokers want your money, especially if...

Why is portfolio margin only available to those with >=$100,000

I agree. I am an independent trader, and have traded with RegT and PM. My account size meets the requirements to receive portfolio margin, although I opt not to use it. I have found that PM doesn't give me an advantage over RegT. I also, decided that being independent made more sense than...

Trading PC FAQ - All You Need to Know...

You raise a valid point. Many will contend that while they realize their machine is overkill, they state that they are technology enthusiasts (I am guilty of this). A Prius will get you from A to B, so why spend more? Trading is different. The purpose of trading is to make money. A...

Why is portfolio margin only available to those with >=$100,000

Of course there are plenty of people who have PM, and run their portfolio in such a way. The majority of market participants that are at a certain age level typically have enough money to qualify for PM. What I meant was that PM wasn't developed with this group in mind. We are still talking...

    need some direction

You certainly can make a decent return on an acct of $11k, but you must have a method and stick to it. Your risk needs to be measured, you're not going to make a living on an account of that size. Structure trades so that if you are wrong you can still trade another day. You probably...

Why is portfolio margin only available to those with >=$100,000

I find it hard to fathom that you are dynamically hedging option positions with underlying stock, and your net liq is below the PM threshold. Transaction costs would overwhelm any gains from scalping. It's common for people to say "if I just had more margin/cash/etc I would make a...

Why is portfolio margin only available to those with >=$100,000

I can assure you that customers that primarily invest in dividend-paying stocks and bonds are not the target group for PM.
